Tiger is definitely great, but I'm finding him to be a very, very poor role model when it comes to golf. When wanting to get your 9 year old to love golf as much as you do, but watching one of the greatest golfers have temper tantrums and swearing after every bad hit gets old. In my opinion it definitely takes him down a few notches in being a professional. Few others, who get as much TV exposure as Tiger are as unprofessional as he is. It’s unfortunate that I couldn’t find it in me to enjoy his win at the Open. He’s the guy I wouldn’t want to play with on the course. He may be out to beat Jack in the record books, but he sure could stand to learn a lot from Jack as far as being a professional and true sportsman. Just my 2 cents.

Since Ptarmigan Country Club is across the street, and the wife wanted a pool in the summer, we joined there. That's where I play 99.9% of the time. We're close to 5000 feet above sea level, so yes there's a difference. Took my clubs with me on a vacation to Hawai'i in May and had to take an extra club for every hit compared to what I'd play at home. Played what is now my favorite course while I was there though. The Arnold Palmer course at Turtle Bay. It beat me up but I enjoyed every minute of it.

I've found the discussions very interesting and helpful on this site so I thought I'd jump in. I've been playing for almost 2 years and am a total addict. Guess that makes me fit right in with the rest of you. I'm looking forward to becoming involved here when my input and opinion add value.

I was very disappointed. But you're right because the only thing I thought this book did was set things up for a big finish. But that's just me. My wife enjoyed it.
