  1. Thanks to all who entered the giveaway! Congratulations to Todd W - the proud recipient of a $300 credit for golfshoesonly.com!!! Better luck to everyone else for this month's contest and the months to follow!
  2. Hey Folks! Just wanted to drop in and let you guys know about some newly released golf shoes we've got over on golfshoesonly.com now. We're really seeing manufacturers flock to the "street" and sneaker styles with their new shoes. What do you guys think? Do you go for the street shoes or do you kick it old school with more traditional style golf shoes? And for those of you already on board with the street shoes: do you wear them a lot off the course as well? Or are they still just for golf? (images click through to golfshoesonly.com) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FootJoy's FJ Sport Spikeless ($119.95) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FootJoy's DryJoys Tour BOA ($169.95) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ashworth's Cardiff Canvas ($119.95) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nike's Air Range WP II ($99.99) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nike's Lunar SwingTip ($109.99 - $119.99, depending on style) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- adidas's CrossFlex ($99.99) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- adidas's PureMotion ($119.99) the PureMotions even have nubs aligned with each toe, haha: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oakley's Cipher ($129.95) - This is the lightest golf shoe on the market today.
  3. Almost all manufacturers’ stock shafts have limited variability in length and shaft flex/frequency. A driver that may be listed by the manufacturer as 45.5” may in fact be 45.25” or somewhere slightly in between. I was formerly on Ping’s staff program and received two Ping i15 hybrids with stock TFC stiff flex shafts. Inconsistencies in performance prompted me to check the shaft frequencies of each. The frequencies of each shaft tested as a regular flex (soft reg. at that). However, I did not have similar issues with the stock driver or 3-wood shafts. Each tested well within the range for a stiff flex shaft. Your best bet will most often be going through custom to request that your shafts be frequency matched or to go with a custom/exotic shaft if you still have lingering concerns with the quality of the stock shaft. This will add significant wait time before you’re able to hit the links with your new club, but may be worth it. Alternatively, as you know some facilities and stores are better equipped than others. You can ask the Pro at your local store or Pro Shop if they have a shaft frequency measuring device. If buying off the shelf ask them to test a couple of the same club to see which one best matches your needs. The variability may surprise you.
  4. With the current state of the LPGA having trouble with sponsors, ratings and attendance at tournaments recently, it in no way surprises me that they would encourage any sort of attention they can bring to their tour and athletes. Having been around the LPGA tour events and met some of the golfers, I think it is a great thing to bring more publicity and a wider audience base to a great sport that deserves more attention.
