  1. Impact is the MoT. The hips need to drive a little more, this will help the right shoulder to dip more. The elbows are too separated. An impact bag will give you the feeling for better conditions.
  2. You have to work on your impact conditions. Use an impact bag to get these conditions.
  3. Back swing needs more upper body rotation, more shoulder turn. (Jim McLean's x-factor). You're getting up at impact, trying to pull the ball into the air.
  4. Is this some kind of code.
  5. Isn't Hagen depicted in the Bagger Vance film. What about 'golf in the Kingdom' has no one heard about it.
  6. What? Sorry, I don't understand.
  7. IMO Taylor is simply picking the club up too much. There's little upper body rotation because of this and its little wonder his right knee flex is static. It is confusing though because in the second video he does turn much better and it all looks better. I say work on better rotation and the knee should take care of itself.
  8. It looks quite good Rebecca, nice tempo, a little closed at the top because of a wrist roll but I would work on steadying your head. Can you see the ball at the end of your swing. Looks like you turn it away quite a bit. Try getting your chin a little higher at address. BTW try to get a face on video.
  9. Looking good compared to 6 months ago. You have fixed your lay off well. At this time I would work on tempo. An old teacher of mine said, "You're not hitting the ball on the backswing". I'd slow the initial takeaway down a tad.
  10. Its like Seve, he's going to go from hero to zero.
  11. I tried it with a longish putter, bent my shaft to 10 degrees but the weights are all wrong. If they change the rule and allow straight up and down shafts then I will try it again
  12. Good video and I more or less do this except for the exaggerated pivot. I block my finish and hold the face open thru impact with a flat left wrist. I also try to keep the club head in front of my body. This gets the ball to land softer IMO. One question, at the end of the video you have a very detailed and very good explanation of the shot but then you talk about chipping, "Pitching and chipping are essentially the same motion." I use putting fundamentals for chipping, no wrist movement and little to no weight transfer, especially with less dynamic chips.
  13. I would love to see two golf films. 'Follow The Sun' The Ben Hogan Story and a little more recent, 'Golf in the Kingdom' Any information would be appreciated. I would prefer if there was a way to watch these online. There are probably other great films. I've seen the usual suspects, Bagger Vance (Good), Caddyshack (comedy classic), Tin Cup (OK), Happy Gilmore (sorry not for me). Any other suggestions would also be appreciated.
  14. Thanks. No I was talking about shorter shots, controlled pitches. I personally don't like anything less than 11 degrees but I have never heard of 22. I think I would like that. With shorter swings, do you try to land the sole more on the back edge?
  15. Am I missing something, I have been doing this for years. What's wrong with this advice?
  16. I know that you are supposed to have 6-8 degrees of bounce for tight fairways, 10-12 for normal and 13 plus for lusher lies. But how do you use this bounce? A good playing friend of mine says when you set your wedge to the ball, the back of the sole is lower than the front edge and this angle should be used to stop the leading edge cutting into the ground. Is that right and is there a better definition or explanation?
