  2. The course is visually stunning..but can be VERY difficult. We knew it would be windy but went anyway..60mph gusts at times and we felt them. What got me was on the back the weather dipped to 36 and the snow started blowing. We finished! I of course played horribly, but that is me just not being very good. The greens were horrible, but that is just because they were aerated and sanded recently. Why the rates were $47.50 for weekend twilight I assume. I will go again when the weathers better and the greens are green :) Black Mesa is next, as well as Twin Warriors..another awesome NM course.
  3. I am so excited to play Paa Ko tomorrow...will be a bit windy, but should be fun. Anyone on here not from New Mexico ever played it? Will be my first time out there, heard its a pretty difficult course, hope I dont lose too many balls!
  4. I cannot begin to explain how helpful that video has been to me. I just started playing and decided to try the stack and tilt swing method. This video alone has made me so much more confident. I do not slice nearly as often any more..when I do I am sure it has to do with me. I am far from an "expert" or even knowledgable Grooch but based on my experience 6'3" 270, I get about 250-260 as well..
  5. well..the math is making some sense to me, i understand how you arrived at the 22..now..to play better and lower it! Thank you guys very much for your insight and help.
  6. 2,830 yards from the regulation tees that i played from, 3,030 from the championship tees
  7. Think I gained a pet peeve today! Took a cart with my dad (he has bad knees) to play 9 and constantly were getting pushed by a couple behind us. We finished the second hole and stopped to let them play through, and they refused! They rode us the WHOLE 9..really made me uncomfortable and I felt like I rushed a lot of my shots because of it. I am not sure if they were just being kind, but we stopped so they could go and they didn't. Is that proper?
  8. Felt really good! I made much better contact, much more consistent. Still duffed a few, but I am still trying to self learn this.
  9. OK I posed the questions posed to me and got a blank stare...I don't think the kid had any idea what I was asking. Maybe i can get some help from here.. I took 56 shots start to finish. I did not take "max shots per hole" or anything. I shot a true 56 ( horrible right :/ gotta start somewhere). The score card is setup like an 18 hole score card but it just has the same 9 twice. I played from the back tees, which has a "slope" of 113. Really I am not sure all that this means but I want to learn! The card also says "rating" of 65.8.
  10. It is possible it was a manufacturing fault, and the club was sold at a lower price because of it. It looks JUST like mine, minus the branding and the serial number.
  11. I stand corrected to my post, kind of. My superquad does not say superquad instead it says 425. And my serial number looks nothing like the original either..
  12. I am not sure, questions I will ask when I arrive today. :) I am really new to "formal" golfing..
  13. Golfmart in Albuquerque, maybe Bullseye..hmm I dont remember,..I bought it for my dad for a gift, and he gave it back to me lol
  14. Wish me luck! going this afternoon to play my first 9 trying S&T.; Never have had a proper swing, so hoping this will help me hack less..will report back after my 1/2 round.
  15. I rarely have enough time free to play a full 18. I suspect I will only be able to play the 9 hole course near my house as a primary course. Is it acceptable to set a 9 hole handicap?
