  2. In all seriousness, why did you guys choose to name key #3 "flat left wrist"? It seems kind of misleading to me.
  3. http://thesandtrap.com/t/39411/quickie-pitching-video http://thesandtrap.com/t/60526/erik-hitting-a-few-chips-and-pitches These two videos were by far the best tips I have received to date (that showed almost immediate results) for me. Thanks Erik.
  4. Broke 100 for the first time today with a 94! Everything was working better than normal. I knew my hard practice would show dividends on the score card eventually!
  5. Funkstr- This is what Paradox is talking about http://thesandtrap.com/t/34727/shaft-flex-as-seen-on-camera-photos-or-video-rolling-shutter-illusion
  6. This will make for a good video to add to the above thread as well.
  7. Nope, but pretty damn close! http://www.poppyridgegolf.com/ (Livermore) I'll have to give Roddy Ranch a shot sometime though...
  8. I suffer from the exact same mis-hits. I could be wrong about this, but I think they can go hand in hand with ball flight laws. I'm guessing the path is the same (in to out) on most shots, and the pushes are when the club face matches the path, and the hooks come when the face points at the target (or closed to relative path).
  9. Agree with this to help correct the slice. If you watch the down the line videos, look at the distance between your hands and body at address vs impact. You want them to be about the same distance from your body at address as at impact, your's are way out in front of you on the downswing (which is the "over the top" move).
  10. Just 3 weeks ago I had a rattler episode. I was driving on the cart path closely behind my brother's cart when he swerved all of a sudden to leave a 30+ inch rattler 6 feet in front of me, of course I go to slam on the brakes and instantly realize I would stop with it directly beneath the cart. With pretty much no time to think, I just kept the foot on the gas, and feet up! I went straight over the top of it, and somehow didn't clip him with a tire. Terrifyingly Hilarious. I laugh just thinking about it.
  11. I'm in the market for some new wedges, and am curious about some of the 3 club sets or bundles I've seen advertised. A handful of these sets are around $100 total, where as the really reputable wedges are $100-$130 bucks a piece. Are these sets/bundles garbage? What are the major differences between those and the more expensive wedges?
  12. I'm fairly new, and I mostly agree. I always keep score, but I do come out feeling much better when I strike the ball better (and execute shots the way i intend to) with a worse score. Focusing on score alone (especially if not all strokes are properly accounted for), can be misleading for ones improvement. I think the entire 5-10% you're talking about comes down to luck. Examples of good and bad luck could include: hitting the flag stick, landing in a divot (or other unexpected bad lies), bounces (in general) that could have been very different if landed only inches away from where it did, tree ricochet, etc. I truly believe that the luck balances out over longer periods of time, but not normally in the course of one round. You have your good scoring days and your bad scoring days, and they aren't necessarily reflective of your ball striking/targeting and short game.
  13. Thanks for the additional information about how to account for handicap of different tees, I was unaware. Mattplusness, sorry for the inaccurate post. At least with a tie, it gives you both a great reason to get back to course soon!
  14. I love playing new courses. Although, as I'm playing one close by a little more than others, I am starting to feel the enjoyment of knowing how to play the "home" course. At the same time, I seem to be more in practice mode at my "home" course, and actually have a little more fun at a brand new courses.
  15. from here: http://www.usga.org/playing/handicaps/calculator/course_handicap_calculator.asp You come in at 18 strokes, with your dad at 39 strokes. 22 would be the "whoop" number.
