Played Lake Wright in Norfolk Va. 6,189 yds 69.3 116 shot 88 , not bad for first time on course. Winds were gusty to 25 mph off Chesapeake Bay. course in good condition, greens were hard and fast with clean sand in bunkers.

shot 42 on front nine( par 35 ) in horrible conditions then the skies opened up. After waiting 45 min in club house they decided to shut the course down since the rain was falling at about 4 inches an hour. The course should have never opened.

played the Eagles Haven course at the Little Creek Amphib Base in Norfolk Va. this morning. The course is in very good shape and provided quite a challenge with the steady breeze coming of the Chesapeake Bay. I shot 88. My partners all shot low 90"s. My lunch was on them.

short game... found an old plastic 55 gallon drum and cut it in half. I go outside a 4 foot fence and try to chip into the barrel that's 12 feet inside. Great fun plus it is really helping those dreaded bunker chips.

watching the replay of The Memorial today. Could not believe that when they were discussing Levin's use of the long putter they stated that he did not change his wrist action as others that us the long putter. He simply uses the handle in his belly as a pivot point and putts as if were a shorter putter. Is this not in violation of the rules ? If so why is it allowed. .

I suffer from the dreaded mystery slice that occurs out of no where. Usually when you least want it. I have found that to keep it in check I have to slow down the back swing. This helps keep everything under control . After hitting a slice I approach the next tee box with 2 thoughts. SLOW DOWN and swing out not in and across . Then I clear my mind , decide where to hit the ball and do it.
