  1. It seems to me that the Warrior company marketing techniques are up for question more than anything else. I got a 3 wedge deal some 5 years ago and I would put them up against all the name brands. FOR ME, just the right weight. I also know a guy who plays almost everyday (yes he can he lives up the street from the course and is retired). He plays with a set of Warriors and I believe he has had them 4 years now. He has made a hole in one on all the par 3's at least once and has an 8 handicap. Again, I don't think it is the clubs as much as it is the marketing. Also, look at their web site. You have to give your life history and then that is for them to call you or email you. Now, that is what I don't like and when I get calls from people who work for a company like that they get no respect from me .
  2. I like GWLEE7 post. Here is someone who has worked with Quinton (for 5 years) so he must know something about the Rotary Swing. GWLEE is not popooing it he is merely saying that the basic rotary swing elements worked and the (enhanced) version Quinton says you need is just a lot of detail on the original basic premise. As usual, the advanced (for members only) stuff is marketing and more money. I get sick and tired of looking at these "online instructors" who start out with great basic teaching and then get into the mode of "now, get this DVD on (whatever) and receive free (whatever) and get my newsletter for $29 a month" These hooks are the marketing aspect I don't like and if all the instructors buy into this type of promotion for their teaching then they should quit and get a job elsewhere. Obviously they are not making enough money teaching at the course they belong to so they launch out into that wonderful world of internet marketing where they find they can get peoples money very easily by just making a few DVD's and then start a web site. Read the terms and conditions on some of these websites. It makes your head spin.
  3. Tishler has some great videos and just looking at the one on stance helped me more than all videos I have watched. BUT, that said, I spent a long time looking at different videos of his and was ready to toss him aside because the quality of the videos and the way his voice came across got to be annoying. Additionally, like all the "professional teachers" they have more to say on a technical side than one can apply. Klassen tries to keep it simple although he gets to wordy also. The bottom line is: Whether it is Tishler or Klassen or McLean or Haney they want you to buy their DVD's or programs or go to their schools.... If you can get on tip from any of the FREE instruction on youtube PRACTICE it!! You see, you can listen to all of these guys but at no time do they REALLY REALLY stress practice. It seems it is just an afterthought and it gets buried in their instruction. WHY? Because if you practice just a few free tips and master them you may not need to buy anything and then they don't make money. Tishler was instructing Mark Wertz. If Mark was smart he would be taking notes and taking videos (with sound) of what Tishler is saying so he could refer back to them in the future and also to review them (like practicing) so that when on the course he can mentally have them as an arsenal to fix his swing if it goes wrong. Professionals like Tiger Woods rely on others to help them because they have the money. If they were REALLY smart, they would be compiling all the info that is given to them so that they could review it at their leisure. But then, like I said, they have the money and I don't. As Pirot, the Agatha Christy detective, says use the gray cells.
  4. Klassen has some good information and I got it for free. You just have to listen to what he says and parse the info. Someone posted that he was turned off by the 7 degree comment. First, I don't think that person looked at a protractor to see how much 7 degrees is. Second, that comment was how much you can torque the head. Later Klassen says that if the club head moves just 1 degree it will send the ball left or right NOT straight. That is useful. Do I like his sweaters ? NO! Do I like his funny laugh? NO! If I were to turn off all the college professors i had because I did not like the way they looked or talked I wouldn't have graduated from college. Now, I am not saying to buy Klassens's stuff. What I am saying is you can gain some insight if you just listen to what is said.
  5. It is not worth $100.00. As a matter of fact I don't think Jim McLean has enough to do or is not making any money on his golf schools so he is pushing the toolbox. To make one at homer, go to Lowe's or Home Depot and get the driveway markers for aiming sticks, some PVC tubing to put them in and some caps for the end of the pvc. Drill a hole in the the enter of the pvc to push the aiming stick through. You can get some small diameter round steel and drill holes for them as well. Any how you get the point I am sure. I made my own version for $5.00 just as a fun project for a Saturday afternoon. PVC Length 52"
  6. I think lessons are a waste of time for the person who shoots in the 90's like myself. I may play 2 times a week for a period of maybe 6 months. That is not enough time to groove anything. I play for the enjoyment of getting out and being with duffers like myself and maybe get a birdie. For those who want to play to a single digit handicap you need to practice on the course not off a driving range. Course conditions better emulate what the real world is. If you can play by yourself you can also concentrate on how each shot feels etc.
