  1. I've used Prov1, Prov 1x and V2 Gamers many times in the past 12 months.. Some on dessert hot dry days, some on soft rainy days... Doesn't matter which I had absolutely NO TROUBLE at all with V2 Gamers.
  2. I have the same problem, and I live in Cleveland Ohio where it's very moist and humid most of the summer because of Lake Erie. Best advice any one ever gave me, go buy the Karma Overwrap grips. I installed these on my last set of clubs and LOVED THEM! I got new MP-59's this year. They were a demo set and wanted to get rid of the demo grips so I had Golf Pride Multi-Compound grips installed because the "tech" at GG suggested I use them since they "are the best for people who sweat"... Well let me tell you, I will never put another grip on my clubs other than Karma. Golf Pride grips set me back $9 something a club and they performed HORRIBLY in damp weather, sweaty hands... You name it, unless it was perfectly dry it was a no go.
  3. They are going to be having a web portal where you can view from any machine then the same info you see on your device.. Perhaps at that point it will create a small app that will interface with Bluetooth
  4. If he could learn to just hit an iron he would be deadly lol. I bought a SwingByte finally, we're going this Friday to the Range so I can show him his swing on it. Maybe that'll help
  5. It doesn't take great mechanics. I am a 10 Handicap and can regularly hit about 290, but my good buddy whom usually scores 30 over par when we golf has had several drives we measures using GPS and were around 315. He's not a great golfer because he's a poor chipper and struggles with his irons sometimes - but he was a driving range enthusiast and a hardcore software player and can crank it out of the park. He has figured out over the years (at least with his driver) how to get the double pendulum timed up correctly... Even if that means his hips are all over the place, and everything is incorrect, he has learned how to create speed. If he did learn proper mechanics and took some lessons he would be deadly.
  6. I have had other golfers come into the rough on my hole while I am walking towards my ball and try to convince me that they are also playing that same exact ball and number and saw it go in the same direction. That's the real reason I mark mine
  7. Because Mizuno REALLY needs the money right? lol
  8. I felt the same way about the 58's, I didn't at all like the feel compared to the 59's. I think the only step up from here is to get the 69's in terms of feel, but you really have to be a good ball striker and have a good use for those blades to want to play them lol
  9. showtime, GG did NOT at any point use the Shaft Optimizer and I hit all the head options on the cart. I wasn't pleased with their lack of knowledge either on how to even use their systems and computer... Golfsmith, on the other hand, did seem to have better tools and know how to use them. I used the Shaft Optimizer at Golfsmith and it told me what I already knew haha. I would say the best thing you can do is fine a "Demo Day" in your area. There is a tool for this on Mizuno's website. Hitting these on real grass in real life conditions are the only way to truly test these irons, I have little to no faith in those launch monitors. Just like you, at GS I was told almost every shot was a fade but on the range I hit probably a handful of fades in the bucket of 120 balls lol.
  10. AP2's are FABULOUS irons as well, but the chances of me finding a pair of AP2's in this same Condition for the price range is fairly hard. If you get a set of 59's let me know what you think
  11. General Thoughts I bought a set of MP-59's that were used as Demo's at a golf show for the weekend. Most clubs we not used and in plastic, and the clubs that had been used literally looked brand new. I spent over an hour at Golfsmith going through fitting but I didn't like the monitor and I knew it wasn't giving me accurate results. The monitor system was telling me everything was fading, and the day before at GG their monitor said everything was a draw. I took these bad boys to the range after picking up today, and I am very glad I made the switch. I had been using Wilson Deep Red's that I bought years ago from Walmart, or RockBottomGolf, or where ever.. They were dirt cheap learning irons and they were far ready for retirement. These clubs were very easy to hit. I didn't loose a single yard moving from Game Improvement irons to these blade/cav combo irons. While they have a great feel, and hit extremely well, they don't feel quite as good as the MP-69's but I just don't have the trajectory to play those clubs. I read a lot of reviews else where saying that the ball explodes off of the face, and I felt that way as well. I was hitting my 5 Iron passed 200 with ease, which was nearly impossible with my last irons. I even had a 7 iron shot that hit about 205. Specifics The Clubs - DG S300 Shafts - Standard Lie, Length, etc Performance Trajectory - The trajectory is mid for my swing speed, but I did notice that the purest hits I made really had the best and most idea trajectory I need. This will be helpful in really helping me judge and achieve some better ball contact. Workability - This is probably a no brainer, but the workability on these clubs makes me wonder why I didn't switch sooner. My old clubs were so n00b friendly that it was difficult to draw or fade the ball. With these clubs I found it very easy to shape shots. Also, this came in handy when really trying several different shots. I was able to pin point some swing faults that before were masked but I was able to quickly make adjustments so that I wasn't fading or drawing on accident. Feel - As stated before, these feel outstanding, not as great as the MP-69's but these also came with DEMO Grips which feel paper thin and rock hard. Also, I was using dirt crap range balls that felt like rocks in their own right. I am going to hit the course this week with some ProV1's so we'll see about true feel this week or weekend. Looks - They look awesome, I've even grown to love the golden insert in the back, which previously I really disliked, but it grows on ya. Forgiveness - Even though these are a true player's iron, they are very forgiving. The shorts that I hit that were mishits, would have been mishits with any set of clubs. Shots that were not 100% pure still had great distance but I will say that toe hits did fade on me more than I would have liked but this is all part of moving to this style of club and learning to hit the ball a bit better. Last thoughts Everyone and every machine told me not to buy these irons, but there is nothing like testing these in the real deal.. I would encourage anyone considering making the switch to a players irons, to test out on a range before making up your mind!
