First of all....Keegan and Phil were firing on all cylinders. Blowing away their competition. 2nd...they played 11 holes Saturday morning! Davis made a huge mistake not putting the most dominant two-some out there in the afternoon. 11 holes and Phil "needs his rest"? Please

Agreed. If you come in incapable of giving 100% and playing 5 matches, stay home. And the Ryder Cup is a battle. Only a couple Americans treat it as such- Tiger, Zack for ex. If you want to win, you show no mercy, like an Ian Poulter. Applauding "the enemy" is so weak, so Phil Mickelson. And with those gestures, clearly gave Rose supreme confidence teeing off on 475yd par 4 18th. Rose 2nd shot----wedge.

Are you really this ignorant?? Did that massive European celebration look like a "draw" to you? Lol, can't make this stuff up people.

1) Davis: Worst coach/leader in Ryder Cup history . Tiger, Phil, Zack, Keegan, and Dufner HAVE TO LEAD OFF . If they get swept, we don't deserve the Cup. Bubba and Simpson leading off!? Really Davis? 2) Furyk: Biggest choker of ALL TIME! His entire routine and rhythm is completely thrown off when pressured. Who looks over two 8 foot putts for 10 minutes each!?? 3) Stricker: 2nd biggest choker of ALL TIME! Another terrible selection. He looked like a deer caught in headlights out there. Not guts whatsoever. 4) PHIL PHIL PHIL! He just doesn't get heads up, Ryder Cup competition. You never applaud your opponent. You put fear, as best you can, into your opponent. There was no way he was winning 18. NEVER! He conceded to Rose on 16 and 17 by clapping, thumbs up, and that stupid goofy smile. There was NO FIRE whatsoever in him. NONE! NEXT RYDER CUP... No Phil, Stricker, Furyk, and Davis. Please! Not one has any guts!

Being the most talented means nothing, unless you win. Winning means a full rounded game. Bad putters don't win much. And couples wasn't a good putter. Couples had the smooth swing, but couldn't finish. He's kind of like Lee Westwood. Lee has one of the best tee to green games, but not a great putter or short game guy. It's also the same reason why Johnny Miller didn't win more. "length and accuracy" is only 1/2 the battle.

You must be white trash, like I initially thought.

so according to you guys, with "popularity" being so important, then we should expect Michele Wie to be in the Hall. She "captivated" the world was when she was a teen. She can't even break 80! Golf HOF is so meaningless, it's laughable. Could you imagine baseball electing guys in because of their popularity....wow!

Last couple posts...are quotes from voting members. I should have posted their names. Like this one: Freddie is like Joe Namath -- he didn't accomplish as much as some other hall of famers, but it would be really weird to not see him enshrined.

Few have done less with more talentwise.

Mark O'Meara has two majors and 16 PGA Tour wins. What's he thinking about now? O'Meara got 36% of the vote.
-
The guy above says he should have gotten in on "the basis of sheer style" How delusional some of us are.

Fred Couples, absolutely, does not deserve the HOF. 15 victories? Come on, really? Handsome face and a pretty smile goes a long way for this entree. Good looks will get you far in this world. Ugly candidates for President, for example, never win! Good looks, is a huge factor in life. Whether it be presidency, getting that job, or Golf HOF. How come guys with a more impressive resume than Freddy aren't voted in, but he is? Golf Channel says he did so much for golf! Like what???? They said, "he has that effortless, beautiful powerful swing" and he was an "under-achiever" - "should have won more" - "poor guy, and his back problems." Doesn't matter, show me results. "People liked to root him on, a fan favorite." Ok, so he had fans...i'll give you that. Is that a criteria for the hall of fame? The rules are ridiculous that you need 65% votes, but if nobody gets there....we'll take anyone over 50%. What a CROCK!

Get lessons for sure. Not sure how old you are/retired? But if you have the time (I did the following as a young teen).... I used to practice wedge shots in an open field. Maybe a run down soccer field, etc. And brought 20 or so balls and would just practice "hitting" the ball. Bring a PW, 9iron, maybe 8iron if long enough. And just spend a few hours learning what if "feels" like to hit shots. You'll know when you hit it good, try to repeat it. Unlike years ago, there are also courses with great practice facilities....30 bucks all day. Have a day off? Spend 4,5 hours hitting short iron shots, pitching, putting. Then you can tackle the long irons and driver. For now, i would learn to hit the ball. Easiest way- short irons. My .02 cents

Wow Dr. Obvious, anything else you can tell us. Not for nothing, but i could have given the analysis you gave, sheesh. You're not really a pro instructor are you? Experts will give the why's and how's, the good and bad, etc. You basically said...."okay...he turns his hips, and his shoulders, no flex in right knee, flex in left knee, and now I'm going to play the rest of the swing"....HUH!?? If your point was to dispute what he teaches, than just friggin say that!

I love Golfsmith, but I would never buy clubs, get them fitted, etc hitting into a net. I don't care what their computers say. Go to a reputable driving range/pro shop where they have an expert club fitter. Most reputable places go through exhaustive measures to make you're fitted properly. The guy near me has a great reputation, and when i decided on my set.....we spent 45 minutes hitting balls testing everything- weight, feel, length, loft, stiffness, you get the idea. We even used data on his computer to precisely get me fitted properly. I felt confident in my purchase, mostly because you can see your ball flight. I would never buy a club hitting into a net. My .02 cents

Im a happy-go-lucky guy. I love this site. I even like you! Don't take everything so serious, like showing where you live?? On his site, i care about GOLF! Not "rate my home" If you take a close look at one of the beauty courses in America...Saratoga National....my backyard look a lot like theirs!
-
Are you his mother? lol

Ok, we're comparing homes? Alright, i'll bite FOURPUTT. Moved here this year, on a golf course. Probably why I'm a single handicapper, and you're not!! No jeans on this course.... Turn your computer upside-down!!

There is a universal dress code, and most people follow it- collared shirt, with slacks or shorts. If you want to dress like white trash, jeans and a cut off shirt... Go right ahead. I wouldn't golf at a place like that. Would love to know the name of the club charging 75 allowing denim. Name???

Thanks for the info. Looked into them, all good choices. Windwatch is private.

FOURPUTT wrote: "No, there isn't a dress code in golf. Attire for the game has evolved as fashions changed throughout the years. The only dress code is set by course policy, not by the game." Soooo.....there is a dress code. In order to play golf anywhere, you have to agree to the dress code for that course. And universal "dress code", at minimum, is no jeans or tank tops. And usually more stringent than that.

40k brand new, and you can't 4k for it...hmmm.......

My first rangefinder, Leupold GX-3i...
jimdandy replied to Danattherock's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Some here have spoken about the difficulty, due to hands shaking, of getting yardages? I wanted to get the 3i, is it really a problem? For those that are adept using theirs, do you rest it on your bag or cart while shooting distance, or just have a steady hand? tx -
Why? Because you don't. There's a dress code in golf, just like there's a dress code when you go to a restaurant to use an analogy. Would you walk into a restaurant with your wife in ripped jean shorts and a tank top? No, theres a dress code. Same as golf. And but the way, maybe the guy wearing pants has fair skin, and doesn't want sunburn. And trust me, wearing light pants is more comfortable then pouring sunblock on your body.
