  1. I'll take 250 yards straight on a fairway on any drive over a 300 yard erratic one. From my experience people do tend to exaggerate a lot. But with some of the responses I've read it does seem like a lot of folks tend to state their drives with their best drives as opposed to their average. My driver swing was monitored at around a 102-105 mph swing speed and I regularly hit anywhere between 230-260 yards WITH the roll. Consistency beats power anyday in my book.
  2. Whenever I play, I try to stay as close to the actual rules of golf as possible and do not try to cheat my scorecard since, you're only cheating yourself. I see countless number of people who are very lackadaisical about their scores and have an "estimated" score on each hole that drives me nuts. I think one of my biggest pet peeves is when a person inaccurately posts their score throughout a round and then informs everyone that they had a "great" day and scored in the 80's when in fact if they really counted the "mulligans", drop balls, gimmes, and out of bound free drops, they'd actually end up in the 120s. I guess I need to stop playing with these type of people, but it seems like a lot of people actually exaggerate their scores. Do any of you face similar issues?
  3. I've always read that using a strong grip from a weak/neutral will help prevent you from slicing.
  4. that's pretty impressive... a 4.6 handicap after 15 months of playing... i wish i could do that.
  5. Taylormade R7's... they feeeeel ggreeeat!
  6. Playing in freezing temperatures definitely makes the greens rock hard. One example of this was this past Saturday. I was about 145 yards away and took out my 9 iron. The ball hit the front of the green bounced about 15 feet in the air and kept bouncing until it rolled off of the green and onto the back of the hill into the rough. What would've stuck after a bounce or 2, left me with a pretty bad save shot.
  7. Mine was nailing in a 30 foot putt on a par 5 551 yarder to give me my first eagle. It had 2 fairly large breaks, read it, didn't second guess myself and just stroked the ball. Ball had perfect speed and broke exactly what I was looking for. The hole looked to be the size of a basketball hoop on that shot.
  8. I gotta go with Paula Creamer and her pink equipment.
  9. The golfing world has never seen the likes of what Tiger Woods has done in his 11 years on tour. His game is beyond anyone else's at the moment and seems to only improve at his current 32 years of age.
