  1. Just thought I'd say "hey". I live in the mountain benches outside Salt Lake City and am in my second year of law school. Started playing when I was 23 in April 2006. Started as a 30 hc, down to 19.1 hc now. I'm 6'10", which has made this whole golfing thing very interesting. Somehow though, I've managed not to have too ugly a swing like many tall guys. LOVE the game, wish I would've found it earlier. Play every round by the rules (actually carry the rules and printouts of some relevant decisions in my bag). This is why the handicap is stuck at 19.1. If I played like my partners I'd be a 10. lol However, unless they ask, I make sure not to be a "RULE guy" (I learned this the hard way once, and I'll never do it again). It isn't my job to police my partners, it's my job to police myself. Been watching the forum for a while, and I love it. It's a great place to hang out when I'm sick of listening to my Professors. kdubspoon
  2. lamebums : I don't know you and I am new to the forum, but I took the liberty of "sigging" your brilliance. See below. Well said sir, well said. kdubspoon

  4. Michigan and Salt Lake City, two of the worst places for "Lake Effect" snow on the planet. We do have the advantage though being a high-desert, so we are usually good by late Feb. early March. I've heard you guys stay cold for a while. Not sure about our snow totals melting away this year though, we are already 162% above normal (and normal is a TON). Alta ski resort (10 min. from downtown Salt Lake) has received 445" so far this season. kdubspoon
  5. PING 10 Series. I or G depending on your preference. I know they aren't the prettiest thing on things on the planet, buy my LORD are they butter! just my .02 kdubspoon
  6. GOAL # 1: Drop the handicap from 19 to 15. Sounds like not very much, but for some reason I was able to drop from a 30 to a 19 in one season, but I then hovered around 19 for all of last year. I've only been playing for two years though, so I'm fairly pleased. GOAL # 2: Learn to control the weather so as to keep the snow in Salt Lake City in the mountains and out of the courses in the valleys and benches. For some reason, in order to have a good ski year I also have to give up golf in the low-lands. lol Granted, SLC isn't like most mountain cities, the "valley" is 4000 ft above see level, and my house is at 5,000. But still... kdubspoon
  7. Law Student at BYU Law in Utah. Crazy hours, way too much stress, and an overwhelming feeling that you are never quite good enough. I love it! CRAZIEST THING: I'm one of maybe 10 non-Mormons (out of 600 students) in an vastly exclusively Mormon school. It's quite the "interesting" experience... kdubspoon
