  1. try licorice root tea, the licorice helps the adrenals. And stay away from caffine and sugars, they mess with the adrenal glands..
  2. Not seen this adviced anywhere but I found it really helps. start swinging a club into an impact bag or old pillow using just your left arm or right arm, not both. This really stretches the wrists and gives a nice feel... really let the club load into the wrists (being careful not to injure yourself) and then wrip it into the pillow.
  3. Also see this video and this
  4. I think this shot is produced by swinging in a way that the lag is released late causing the low shot to be made. But this is not by holding with the wrists.... I've noticed that when Mcilroy and tiger play this shot, that they seem to release across the ball... and a half follow through occurs I've been feeling this on the practice range with some good results.... Anyone else play around with this shot? Maybe someone can shed some light on this so we can further understand what is happening. It feels almost like a slight dip or delay from the top of the swing. Here is a video which shows what I mean, look how the lag is seemingly released across the ball
  5. I have been working on really leaving my arms out of the equation and feeling to connection in my left shoulder and firing it through with the body after setting the club at the top. I am making progress with short irons and I have gained much more distance with a real feeling of not even trying to hit it hard, just letting the body fire through and trailing the arms behind. But My practice ground is small, and I can't get the same feeling with my driver, it feels different, I got a 6-iron clubhead speed of 90 but my drives reach an average carry of about 250 when I strike it solidly, and whenever I try get that effortless sensation which works with my short irons I don't see any added distance. What should my clubhead speed be for my driver if it is 90-92 with 6-iron? I think I must be leaking power with my driver but practicing with my driver is limited to when I can hit a few shots off as a tee shot when no-one is on the course. Does anyone else think it's easier to get the body firing on short irons than longer clubs? Maybe I should try swing more steeply a I swinging round the body seems to make it harder for me to feel the body firing through. Thoughts anyone?
  6. Hey thanks, I feel like I have made some progress, it feels so much easier from the position I am at the top, swinging round the body really is bad for me... it feels so limited compared to what I've been feeling today.
  7. OK.. For some reason, today, I realised where I am loosing alot of power. I had been swinging round my body rather than taking an upward path with my hands and arms from the takeaway... I have tried this out and there is some definite distance and striking improvement... like I hit the best 7-iron of my life tonight. it feels that now rather than my wrists lagging around my body as they come down from the backswing, it's more like my hands and club are taking a path almost vertical, this has given me so much more potential for wrist action its unreal. I have just scored a 2 under par gross round my local course, and I could have easily scored 3-4 less than this... My drives did seem slightly longer, but the difference now is that it feels like I have so much more room/ potential to add more power to my swing.
  8. Hi everyone, newbie here... Great site I hope someone can help me I've decided I need to sort my distance issues out... I drive around 240 carry with my driver... my club head speed is around the 100mph mark and I feel totally capped at this speed... I'm starting to suspect that it's just my body and that I won't ever beable to drive it further than this, but I'm still hoping that maybe there's a problem with my technique, maybe some power loss somewhere. Well here's a not too goo quality video of my swing, thanks for watching and hope to hear some opinions. Thanks
