  1. Thank you Mfed for the above and your link, i have started to read it and will see what i can take from it. Thanks
  2. That makes sence, I had the same issue years back but no one ever said anything. I just pushed through it so i really had not way to really help him or understand why. Another good reason for him to take lessions but now at least I can adjust a time to be sure we get grass to hit off of. Thanks all for the great incite.
  3. No he can hit some very nice, consistent shots off the mats, has a very nice swing. You put him on the grass can hit the ball to save his life. And no panic just questions to see if anyone else had that problem and what they did to fix it that's all. As we all have had in the game he is dealing with frustration.
  4. Thanks, you make a very good point, we do have the option to hit off the grass. For now on I will make sure we only hit off grass, its just usaly a little crowed. Thanks
  5. All, My son is starting to play again after a few years he is 14 and seems to be having a very hard time hitting off grass. He does really well off the mats but the minute you put him on grass all goes bad. He is hitting behind, in front and topping there really does not seem to be any reason for it. I am not the best person to advise i deal with my own issues. He will be in lessons in the next couple of weeks but in the mean time he is becoming very frustrated. I was hoping there was a little advise I could get for him until he starts his lessons. I am just the dad and never wants to hear what i have to say. Thanks
  6. Thank you for the link, they are really beautiful a bit costly. I would like to see about a fitting but there only seems to be on place in LA Long Beach? Is there any other places that you know about I do live in LA. Thanks
  7. Guys, Thank you so much for all the information this all was a very big help in understanding all this. One last question is the shaft flex, I see that there is a wedge flex shaft does this really matter? Thank you again.
  8. Good afternoon everyone, Coming back to the game I read a lot about lob wedges I suppose i should be looking at getting one or more. The one I had years ago I sold I was never really to good with it then So with all that and so many brands lofts and not even sure what bounce is, out on the market and really not understand all the different numbers I was hoping to get some help from every one. What should I start out with? What is a good brand to get there are so many out there, my clubs are Callaway X20 graphite the only thing I keep when I stopped? Do you need more then one? It seems just in the few years I took off from the game there are a lot of changes in equipment. Thanks for any and all help.
  9. Thanks for the reply, I have got a few things now from Rock Bottom and Pro Clubs. Not to pleased with the dudget golfer, I hit the wrong button and got a 3 wood that i tried to stop from shipping but they where to fast. If I send it back I pay shipping no issue there, but a $10 restock fee. I had ordered a 7 wood at the same time but found out the next day they where out of stock so I go an oh sorry we canceled the ebay order. Dont think I will order from them any time soon unless the price is really low and do not really care if i get it or not. Live and learn I guess. Thanks again.
  10. Well keep in touch and toss a note here and there on how it is going I will do the same. If you are ever out in the LA area or heading this way let me know! As my son calls guys like us, (old guys), I guess we should stick togather! I will be happy to just stay ahead of him at this point, what ever that ends up being but it does seem to get a bit harder all the time. So for me just keeping in the low 90 will make me happy! Take care have fun and when your out there having that cocktail think of all us old guys who are coming back to a awesome game!
  11. Rehmwa, Welcome back, I guess you I must has got the same bug only mine is in the form of a 14 year old son who is dying to make the HS team. But I am with you the relearning all over again can be better then before we have more patient now? And why I stopped playing sounds like we have the same story. I hope that being a bit older will keep it all in check and let it be just what it is fun. Enjoy and welcome back!
  12. Thanks for the incite, I was looking at new, but settled on a set of used X20's for my son, he liked mine and hit them well. But all the prices if you look seem to good to be true compared to a walk in. I know my way around ebay but all the big sellers have some one that is not happy with them. Has anyone ever put a list of trusted sellers together, if so I would sure like to see it? Thanks again for the reply.
  13. Sorry if I am not starting all this off correct. I have questions about buying new irons off ebay i hope can get a few answers. I see a lot of new clubs for sale, most top of the line but seem to be selling for half the price of the store. Does any one know how to tell if they are real or just knock off's? I have bought a lot of stuff off ebay, but there sure seems to be a very big differance in prices. Thanks for any help on this i can get.
