  1. I would also accuse him as being slow. If your fellow players putt out on a regular basis without waiting, I think they are trying to tell you something, speed up your SLOW.
  2. Living around the corner from my local course makes it easy to just walk on (6th hole) and start playing solo. The Course is always very quiet and generally i play only two or three holes over and over.(I am a Member) Most mornings i can tie the lead of my dog to my carry bag, hit the ball and walk the dog at the same time. Solo is a great way of trying out different clubs and just enjoying the fresh air. Having 6 or 7 puts per hole is a great way to practice, more enjoyable than the range.
  3. If you play on a course which has hard uneven rough, pack a 7wood. Also maybe a 3wood or a 5wood for more options when teeing off.
  4. Down here we play 70 percent Par/ stableford (par is a variation of Stable ford) Your right based on points and the game goes much quicker, if you cannot score a point you pick up the ball,( like a mercy rule).........There is no 5 hour rounds if everybody is playing stableford, The Trend is also to play more aggressive as you can just wipe the hole if you wack one out of bounds. Most players prefer is as it is much quicker, and does get counted to your handicap.
  5. Very Good, I can see that Rancho is rated a harder Course.........Understand........One last thing do you play much Stableford and par, every threads seem to revolve around stroke play.
  6. Looks good........... I take it Handicap is the hole ratings 1-18...............also can men hit off the red
  7. Thanks, I will check out................sounds allright, although social rounds could free for all.
  8. Interesting. Does all these options show on the score card, if so where can i down load to see?
  9. Complicated alright ......How many tees are there to hit from?. 6100 seniors , does that mean you have to be a senior to hit from there How old is a senior?. Where on the tee list is the mens?
  10. I am trying to understand how handicaps work in the U.S. Can someone answer these Questions What I can gather, the course rating changes if you hit off different Tees at your OWN choice. (How many tees are there? and yardage between Tees approx). Here everybody hits off the same tee, they are rotated between blue and white only Your Maximum Handicap (36 here was 27 several years back). Is there one system for all the states? Social rounds handicapped (unheard of here) is this true. I take it the slope is the Rating on the difficulties between courses Would you change anything? Is it a good system?. We are slowly adopting bits and pieces of U.S. system , but all the above unknown. Thank You
  11. The best golf courses in the world (especially in the US) have caddie programs } Quote Phan52. Then Phan52 you go onto to say I have yet to play in the top 100 that does not have a caddie program, and i have played in lots of them. Your words Phan52. Reading this, you would assume you have played the best courses in the WORLD, as you say LOTS OF THEM. Your words Phan52. Your Mouth Phan52
  12. Phan 52 you sound like a true humanitarian putting these kids through college, however, all the courses on your list are in the US are they not. Phan52 you said you have played all over the world with caddies, me thinks you are dreaming.
  13. What are you talking about? Parole? Big Leagues? Sorry, you are not making any sense.
  14. Name the couses in Australia and Europe in your top 100 that you played with a caddie.
  15. Absurd? Having a servant carry your clubs while you are more than capable, that is absurd. And we have some of the best golf courses in the world down here, with the majority being caddie free. My apologies for having an a opinion
  16. All caddies should be banned. Carry your own clubs. Tradition?, rubbish,do we still have Jam Boys.
  17. Being neither US or UK based is an Interesting read. Slow play is universal. Down here we play a lot of stableford and par rounds with social rounds not handicapped,by which generally speeds play. Played a stroke round yesterday taking 4 hr 20 min {walked} considered long . Majority of players walk , ironically i find all the young kids hire the carts with blokes over 35 walking. Personally, i enjoy the walk, health wise with better interaction with playing partners..........from Melbourne. Australia
