Gives me a chance to figure it out 4. Gives me a chance to figure it out 3. Gives me a chance to figure it out 2. Gives me a chance to figure it out 1. Then hit it stiff thus figuring it out- and then life is good
  2. Been searching for a new set of irons for the past 2 months. Went to Golfsmith and they are tired of looking at me. I have hit nearly every set they have. My hands are killing me. I have played for over 40 years- had two decent sets- my first was Golden Bears and then I hit 845s for the last 20 years. Time for an upgrade- big time. But after hitting so many clubs and my hands turning to crap, I can't hit a decent shot due to abuse and trying different irons. I hit the AP1s pretty good and have always wanted Titleist irons. The thing that is killing me, and I am sorry if I piss of the TM fans... but I hit the R11s and RazorBall irons real well, but I can't or don't want to buy into the TM marketing choke me to death ad campaign- I feel as though I am getting sucked in- that ain't me... but I hit them real well. I current have all TM driver, 3 and fairway with a smile on my face but the marketing is overkill for the irons. I am choke IER. Sorry but I am venting. Too many choices. I got to find my sweet spot on the irons before I go brain dead. Trying to fall in love with the irons but can't see it... yet. I know.... get fitted and get back on the course.
  3. I like the Cleveland looks. I have a Cleveland 3 wood that is priceless. I'll look at it this weekend. Thanks
  4. Cavity back 845s.
  5. Hitting my 3 iron to 210-200 is starting to kill my hands- the older one gets. Too much hammer time. I have hit a few hybrids and slowed down my fairway wood but it is not consistent. The 3 is more consistent but I still desire a smoother feel without too much pounding. I don't really like the look of the hybrid- rather hit a smaller fairway wood. I used to have a killer Hogen 5 wood way back when but it self destructed. Any suggestions on a successful long iron or hybrid or is there a "mini" fairway wood out there? Thanks
  6. Nicklaus Golden Bears Woods through irons with Bullseye Putter in a red white and blue carry bag. Man, I was big stuff back in 1972. Or I thought I was.....
  7. Find the best set of irons that fits my game so I can play the best golf possible until I need a new set of irons.
  8. How do the Titleist 913D2 driver work for you?
  9. Demoed the Titleist AP1 rions last weekend. Hit great but I am deciding on regular or stiff shafts. I am a 10 at 52 years old. Have been hitting stiffs for 20 years. What are your suggestions on whether to stay with stiffs or go regular. I assume my swing will slow down over the next 10 years. I can still swing with speed but will regs cause me troubles? Thanks
  10. Very good point. Does the club do the work or does my type of swing take care the workability? I am looking for a club that will improve score based on the swings I give them. Who isn't? Overall, I need a consistent professional set that will last over the years instead of busting the bank every other year. Looks like I am off to the range with several selections and get it narrowed down. Thanks
  11. New here so I hope I don't replay a past thread. I have played golf for over 40 years. Started with cheap clubs, did my best with them, got some new 845s 20 years ago and... again did my best with them. I have a mived bag right now. But now at 52, I want to play the best clubs that match my game. I would spend upward on some nice Titleist irons but as a 10 or so... does not make real big since. I can shoot a 76 or 86 at any given time. Make pro shots and also look like a hack. But all and all I want a set that stays with me and I can enjoy and be proud of at the same time. So here is the question "What is the best way to find the right irons". Go get fitted? Go hit several brands at the range? Talk to the local pro? All of above. I can make the investment but in the end it is not what I hit but how I hit. Thanks- Press
  12. Many moons ago I was trying out some new irons at the practice range trying to find a new set. I had several brands I was hitting. One of them was Pursuit or Pusuer or something like that. I recall it was a Arnold Palmer brand- not sure as it was 20 years ago. I hit them very well but I opted for a higher end make and model. Do you recall that brand? and if so was it a Palmer made? Thanks, Press
