When your as close as you are, it will happen on its own. The biggest thing is not trying to shoot 79. You can hinder your ability to play better. Telling yourself on 15 tee that you can make 3 bogeys and still break 80 is no way to play. Let 76 or even better be your first time.
Good luck.

Gift cards to dicks- need a 3 wood, not sure where I'm going with that yet.
Off all week, temp is high of 39 and 30mph winds the next 3 days.
This site is great. A forum that shares and loves the game of golf as much as I do. I just recently signed up but have been a reader for some time. The posting on courses, equipment, playing and even things like best shot of the week are great.
I am from south nj (cape may) and have played since age 10 (now 27). I look forward to contributing and reading on this site.
Had 210 yards left on the Par 5 7th, into a 10 MPH head wind. Hit a solid 4 iron onto the front of the green. Had about 25 feet for eagle...............and three putted for par.
Breaking 90 and 80 were big. I think the first time I broke 40 (9 holes) back in my high school golf days was the proudest I was. It was really windy and with my score (38), we beat a better team by 1 stroke.
Get down to a 9 handicap or lower.
Play in more tourneys
To lower handicap, I have to lower my putting averages.
Currently 1.93 per hole (would like 1.85 or lower)
Currently 2.09 per GIR (would like 1.9 or lower)
Fairways could also use a lift (45.2 %)
