  1. It's an Arthur Hills course, and it's a pretty tough track. There are very few trees, as the area was basically Orange Groves that died off after a freeze 20 years ago-- It was pretty much clear-cut for development. The course's best feature is are the tift-eagle greens... They putt so true and look great year round.
  2. I agree 100%.... I started out with my dad's "cut down" first flight blades and REAL WOOD woods (imagine that) almost 25 years ago... My parents bought me some Rawlings power stik irons and woods... and I ignored all the kids who thought they sucked, and were playing with Big Berthas and Ping Irons when I played in JGA-- I beat most of them. My freshman year in HS, I played with the power stiks and added some big bertha "knock-off" woods... Finally, my Sophomore year I got a set of "brand name" irons... a set of second-hand King Cobra Irons from Edwin Watts. This year, after playing with those Cobras for over 12 years, I FINALLY bought a "NEW" set of irons... I picked up the chrome 735cm's for $500 from Golfsmith, after I saw the price drop... I love them, but the reason I am a good golfer is because I have worked on mastering a consistent repeatable swing, and developing a feel for the game.
  3. I play the ProV1... sometimes the Bridgestone B330-S. Good balls definitely make a difference. I read an article that was suggesting even higher handicap players can benefit greatly from a softer/better ball, especially around the green. I would recommend the Bridgestone E5/E6... I played the E6 for a while last summer, and it really helped me straighten out my drives.
  4. Can't get the image to post... so here's a link! Stoneybrook West http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=q=en&ge...19956;&t;=h&z;=16
  5. My girlfriend does golf, in fact our first date was on the golf course. I met her at an engineering professionals happy hour... She asked me if I golfed (I was wearing a Masters polo) and I started "bragging" about my 6 handicap... She then chimes in with "I'm a 3." She played golf at UCF, and is still around a 4... We've been together for 2.5 years now, and we play together atleast once a week. It's a blessing and a curse though... as I really can't use the excuse that I'm heading out to play golf. We've played in a couple FSGA/FWSGA mixed team championships, and we're practicing right now for the June event in Boca Raton.
  6. Yep, I only play ProV1's... and they feel great on my 735cm's!
