1. 2-3 Years not 582 haha
2. I've been Playing Golf for: 2-3 years; My current handicap index or average score is: 14; My typical ball flight is: Draw ; The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Push Slice, Hook; Videos: My swing looks alot worse on camera :) This was at practice today, I am 15 and I'm on my teams JV golf team I'm about 6th or 7th on the team out of 16 as a freshman! Let me know what you think, all advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
3. Thanks, I heard something about a rules page for my swing? Where can I find that? Sorry for all the questions haha
4. Didn't see your post! Thanks!
5. But I would have to upload it to YouTube right?
6. Ok! Ill get a friend to video tape me during practice :) ill only be able to get a DTL though.. How will I be able to post the video here from an iPhone video though?
7. Haha you do have a good point there! The other day in a match I had a 5 footer for birdie and I missed.. But the hole before it I made a 30 footer for Par haha :) oh well.. I still shot 41(5 over) in 9 holes! But the reason i hit it thin I think is because I'm turning my hips too fast for my hands which causes a pull or thin shot... My setup is also a bit wide but ill work on that at our practice at the range today.. Thanks ill make sure to check out 5SK
8. Alright :) I mean I don't take a ton of divots and my miss hits are usually low bullets. I guess I can stick to lag putting but it would be nice to be able to convert some birdies! Haha thanks for the input though!
9. Hey guys, I'm 15 and a freshman in highschool. My handicap is 14.7 and I have been playing for 2 years and I love the game. Usually from 150 yards to the green I feel confident I can hit the green, however I always aim for the "fattest" part of the green, which leaves me with monster putts. When im not on my "A" game with putting I set my self up for disaster. How can I get more spin so I can aim for the pin without worrying about rolling off or missing short, or long and into trouble. From about 110 yards or less I can get a good amount of spin that I can attack the pin. But what are some ways I can get more spin on my longer irons so I can lower my score? Thanks :)
10. Hey there, A year ago I had this same problem.... I remember I was popping up shots... Or hitting them extremely fat.... I went to a pro and figured I had a severe case of Out to in swing path. This causes a steep path because in order to go out to in you are usually in the wrong top position... From there you have no chance to swing it back inside... So for me what I did with my coach is I worked with my takeaway too make sure I wasn't starting why to outside. And then I worked with my top position making sure it wasn't way above my head... And lastly if you put a towel or head cover in your armpit and swing while making sure it doesn't fall! Again I don't know if this is your situation but I was doing the same thing as you and this is how I fixed it :)
11. Hi there I am 15 and you are a better golfer than I am. However I always mark down stats like fairways hit in regulation, greens in reg. and putts. I have a general feel of how many greens I should be hitting on an AVERAGE day. For me I can't dwell on hitting 3 less greens than when I shot my best round of my life. But if you really are playing significantly worse than a normal day take a breath and relax. Don't try to go for the "shot of the year". Don't try to sink 20 foot Downhill putts. Be smart and don't make a "Bogey" a Triple Bogey because you tried to hit a green from 240 out in the rough. In my opinion it's all game management, so far it's helpe me become more consistent. I hope you reach your goal of becoming a pro and thanks for reading my advice! good luck and let us know how you do!
12. I know what you mean.. Basically take a normal stance a little narrower depending on club and place it back in your stance... The further back you place it lower shot goes... I put some of my weight forward when I hit these shots and I get a low shot and a lot of spin, but what works for me might not work for you! Let me know if this helps I'm not a GREAT golfer but we are pretty even in skill! Let me know how it works out.
13. Well I'm 15 haha I mean I am better than my parents and grandparents.
14. If you want to hit a lower shot play something like a punch, play the ball back of stance and take a shorter swing and don't follow through, stop your hands as you hit the ball...... I would take a 7,8, or 9 like phenom said. Depending on the greens and how much spin you can get off this shot land it before the green or on it.. This is definitely something you should practice and get a gauge of how well you can hit this shot!
15. Ok I will is there a guide on how to post videos? I'm not so good with technology
16. Okay thanks, I do feel like I'm getting ahead of the ball and I feel like I'm falling forward... Ill check that! I have a match today I hope I do well... My strong part of my game is my short game and putting so Hopefully that will help me today. Ill let you guys know how it went
17. Hey guys I'm a freshman on my HS JV golf team and my handicap is around 14..... Lately(past week) my swing just hasn't felt correct.. I feel like I'm swinging slower, I'm not making enough divots, sometimes j don't make one and I've been hitting shots thin... I really don't know what happened I took 2 days off and I was playing great.. Shooting low 80s for a month and now my swing feels different... Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks
18. Hey guys, so basically I figured it out... Or I hope so, I like to have a closed stance promoting an in-out swing however this opens the cub face slightly, but since I roll my hands over at impact I have a nice draw, what I was doing was closing it even more, so I was snap hooking on a bad shot, and with solid contact and timing I hit it low but I figured it out so all things well :)
19. Honestly it could be that because I tend to slice with a slight out to in.... Next time ill lay an alignment stick down as I'm hitting
20. But the thing is it goes straight I swing roughly 90 mph with regular which is my correct shaft it's even 10.5 loft so it has to be something with my swing
21. Hey guys , this is mostly for my driver and woods, I tend to hit a lower a shot like not a straight line driver but it's not as high as I would like... Any tips?
22. Hey Guys thanks for the help! I looked for drills on a inside to our path and it really helped... I mean I was hitting a draw I was miss hitting low stingers... First them in my life.. But of course the real test is a course and I'm playig there tommorow.. I have really good putting and chipping so if I can do what I did today :) but regardless thanks guys for giving me confidence in my self!
23. Thanks I appreciate it guys ill test this out later and ill let ya know how it went
24. I feel like divots aim to the right, but I do have alignment issues
