  1. If I want to hit a high fade or slice around a dog leg, the first thing I do is take a drastically more upright back swing. If you flattened yours and straightened your shots out, it may have been too upright to start with.
  2. See sig. list
  3. In my set, a 54/55/56* would be my sand wedge. One advantage of getting that club is that you can take a full swing from about 20 yards closer to the green than you can with a normal 50* wedge. I'm a big fan of full swings from as close as I can manage and carry 4 wedges for that reason. My 65* gives me full swing capability from half the distance of my normal wedge. I'd save the money and get the cheaper club, since it is a solid brand name and should work well. After you learn when, where, and how to use it, you could "trade up".
  4. I picked up a used left handed junior 6/7 iron to carry during tournaments, etc for about $15. You may not hit it great but probably better than trying to hit a wedge upside down (which you are still swinging left handed). Also, it can save you from an unplayable lie. On the original post, my own preference would be another wedge if you don't want a left handed club.
  5. My understanding is that there are certain specs +/- that have to be met and if there is any question, the manufacturer will not sell them as a normal produce. Also, in manufacturing, certain imperfections point to possible problems elsewhere in the process. Can you imagine the problems that Nike would have if Tiger won a tournament and they found out some non conforming balls had slipped through? Some tournament committee's will not allow X-outs, so it's good to check. I've used Pro Vs and Pro V X-outs which are a lot cheaper and the only difference I've ever seen between them is that when you hit the more expensive ones into the trees, you can never find them.
  6. THAT is funny. Sounds like you need to speed up your pace of play. Went off the first tee when it was less than 35 degrees, light drizzle, 5 club wind...a well struck 4 iron just made the front of one par 3 green that I normally use a 9 iron to the middle. It never got above 40 degrees that day. Besides that, we ran out of hot coffee & Kahula by the 6th hole.
  7. Fortunately, they have 1st and 2nd round coverage of some tournaments but apparently not even that for the majors. Be that as it may... I enjoy most of TGC tournament coverage but when I flip on Big Break, there is seldom any golf shots being made. I think the concept is fantastic...take a group of people who show above average talent, set up a wide range of demanding shots derived from real life possibilities, see who the best over several days of compitition, award prize, start next round. Whoa, that sounds like real golf, and I'm sure the idea behind the show was not to do it that way. I also knew I was in trouble with Big Break when it dawned on me that the promotional announcer sounded like he was on loan from the World Wrestling Federation and announcing a Cage Match or something...I don't watch those either.

    Free Irons

I've heard a couple horror stories about Warrior golf. I checked on that "free" club offer. You will notice that the word "free" is always in quotes with them. I called them up and they started trying to sell me their line of clubs that were "just like the Taylormade Burner". They never did send me information on the "free" wedges they were offering. In another forum, one of the guys lives in that area also and said he had a friend who got clubs from them and tried to return them for a refund without much luck. I guess he finally had to walk into the office with the clubs under his arm to get any action.
  9. That show has golf content????!!!! Don't tell the Golf Channel that or they will take the clubs away and just show them on the beach. Basically all of the Big Break shows look like they were put together by the same person who thinks Paris Hilton is news. The only thing lacking is the background music from some soap opera. I watched the original rounds when they first came on but half way through the second series, I renamed the show "Give Me a Break" and turned it off. The Golf Channel seems particularily bad about hyping drama over presenting golf compitition, when compared with ESPN or the other networks. They will dwell for days on who said what about who and how X might react to what Y said about them, but they can't show 10 minutes of solid golf action. Thankfully, the Golf Channel does not have exclusive rights to broadcast all of the PGA tournaments.
  10. This all sounds good, but I don't care what kind of grips you use...you can super glue the club to your hands if you want...you have to keep the hands ahead of the club head or nothing is going to help your chipping.
  11. “Golf's a hard game to figure. One day you'll go out and slice it and shank it, hit into all the traps and miss every green. The next day you go out and, for no reason at all, you really stink.” -Bob Hope
  12. The better your wedge game is, the fewer putts you will have. Chip it close = short putt.
  13. I didn't see it but have played the Miracle Hills course in Omaha Nebraska where a guy set the world record of a 447 yard hole in one in 1965...and you all think this new equipment is so great...his record was beat by one yard in Hawaii in 2007.
