  1. I am freaking excited. I have been trying to get my game together this year so far and today it did. Slope 118, rating 69.9 and I shot a -5 for a 67. I was super excited. I had 2 eagles and 4 birdies and 3 bogeys. Par is 72. 6800 yrds total.
  2. Just a general poll. I want to see where most people feel the most important part of their game is. Answer and share comments.
  3. Sounds like a Tin Cup moment to me. haha! Love that movie
  4. So this is just kind of guessing without seeing your swing. However I would say that if you are pulling your irons you are coming inside out, or it could be a weight transfer issue. This may be linked to several problems is my point. The most common of what I have seen is involving your hands being to quick. Your hands want to square the face and you want to try and even out the swing. This may cause you to come off plane and eventually pull it in when on your downswing. Like I said this is something that is hard to identify without a swing video but my guess is it has something to do with your downswing and swing plane in general. I am no Pro so don't quote me on that. How I have found is the best to fix this is to try and stand on your left leg and take a few swings holding the club in your left hand (if you are right handed) and take a few swings. This may help you come away in a straight like and not pull it on the inside. Sounds kind of funny but when I have been getting into a rut of pulling the ball this helps me a lot. In regards to your ball position it could very well be that you have the ball to far forward. I would suggest having your middle irons around the belt buckle line. Your longer irons typically are just forward of the belt buckle. Driver and woods are typically on the back side of the heel of your left foot. (in the event you are right handed again.) I hope this helps, Like I said I am no pro but this should help. I know it has helped me. TGB
  5. The nice thing is you can always check out their rating on eBay. In the event of golf clubs you always have to be careful but if they have a 99.8% rating or higher I typically say you are good to go. Plus you have the example of Golfingdad indicating they are legit. I would also try and contact them through e-mail or however you can to ask them questions. If you ask them questions about the club this should eliminate a lot of concerns and also help you know if they are who they say they are. Hope this helps. TGB
  6. I agree, I notice that I am a straight back and straight through type. They do create putters for different strokes. I was told that if you have a "face" balance putter it is better for a straight back and straight through stroke but you also have a heel balanced putter which helps if you are an arced type of stroke.
  7. So I see a few things here that may be an issue. I only say I can see this because I often times have lived with the hook issues and I can see a few things that may be causing you to do what I learned how to avoid over the last several months. 1. You are swaying. I mean when you take the club back your hips are moving back. This is causing you to get "out of plane" which is throwing you all out of whack. Work on keeping your lower half of the body quiet. Imagine you are sitting so to speak on a stool and this should help. This also has to do with a weight transfer issue. I notice that most of the weight is on your back foot. This is not changing when you come through the ball. work on evening out your weight transfer as your hips come through the ball. 2. When you take away the ball (it is hard to see because the video is fast and impossible to slow down to the point where you can clearly see it.) you are opening up the club face. Pause the video at the top of your back swing and you will see your club face pointing to the sky. This is causing you to over correct and snap the face closed very quick. On your follow through this is very evident. You are rolling your wrists over so fast that your face is very very closed. Hence the snap hook lives. I know this because I had this same issue. The best way to fix this is to quiet your hands. I suggest taking a few swings at the range at about 50% power. This will help you mentally realize not to use so much wrist/hands and as you start to master it you can increase your power levels to 75% and then 100% again. It takes time but can be conquered. I hope this stuff helps. I have been struggling with a hook for a while too and it has taken lesson after lesson and going to the range almost daily just to mentally correct this. I am no pro but I have finally figured our how to master it after about a week or two of just pure practice. I again hope this helps you correct it. Hit em' straight and best of luck to you. TGB
  8. I hope this helps. I was referring to when you rotate your hips it should be mainly on the downswing. From your video it looks like your hips are active on you backswing. I have always been told that you should try and keep your lower half of your body quiet until you start the downswing. It looks like you are rotating your hips too much on the backswing. Try and keep the lower half of your body still until you make your downswing. I hope this helps and I am no teacher but that is just an observation from what I have been told in the past. Cheers TGB
  9. So it is totally a mental thing I know but for some reason I really struggle with swinging when I see my shadow on the ground. I tend to try and always see that my shadow "looks right" so it cause me to mishit the ball. Has anyone else ever had this issue at all? Any tips or advice on maybe how to fix this?
  10. You may want to work on making sure you keep your right arm as close your body as possible. This is done very easily. If you place a towel under your right armpit this will help you maintain the arm position through your swing. I can also tell that the reason that you slice or fade is that your hips are very active in your back swing. Try and quiet your lower body and this will help you not get to far in front when you start on the downswing. Hope this helps.
  11. Hi Everyone, I am new to the forms here but need some input if you can give it. I have been hooking the ball more than I want too lately. I need some feedback. I just want to see what everyone thinks of my swing and can help identify why I may be hooking the ball as of late. Any help is going to be much appreciated. Thanks, TGB
