  1. Played 18 today. Continued to focus on backswing and feeling more upright (head not moc8ng down).
  2. 10 mins backswing mapping of wrists and right elbow.
  3. Played 16 hitting two balls, but not chipping or putting. Focused on 1) feeling like I am standing upright on the backswing (before I was dipping my head towards the ball)and 2) the right wrist and feeling like I am dealing cards.
  4. Worked on the backswing for about ten minutes, and then decided to go play. Unfortunately I live down the street from a course with no range so I "play" more than I practice. On the course I focused on my backswing and worked a lot on approach shots from 140-170 yards out. Teed off with my 3 and 4 iron on almost every hole.
  5. 25 mins on backswing working on feeling like I am standing up more.
  6. Definitely did not make it as I missed some early posts, although I did practice every day, and eve tally stopped posting all together. Looking forward to June though! Good job everyone who completed the challenge.
  7. On and off over five hours - probably for a total sum of 45 minutes of mirror work working on standing more upright in the backswing, and the feel of pulling the left arm through impact to get a better impact position.
  8. Mirror work - secondary axis tilt.
  9. I missed a couple of days due to traveling and the business that goes with it, but I was already out for the badge anyways. I have practiced or played daily working on the exact same things. I am going to switch today though and start thinking about secondary axis tilt.
  10. Slow motion mirror. Hi very poorly the other day (after hitting my best ever a few days before). Figured out that I was sliding my hips and not sliding-rotating as I have been doing. So worked on that today
  11. Range - same pieces. Not a good practice as I rushed through it as it was cold and windy. Should have called it a day earlier, but was (unwisely) determined to finish my bucket.
  12. Very repetitive - elbow and wrist in front of a mirror.
  13. Same here. If we assume that he would be longer with all clubs (and more accurate) then there is no reason for the original question. Of course everyone would take 300 and 30 off with your driver (and 220-240 with a long iron) over 240 and straight with a driver. My comment about my home course was simply regarding the black and white original question with no assumptions or what that would look like in real life.
  14. Same pieces - worked a little on the course, and then some mirror work.
  15. 15 mins mapping in front of a mirror. Putting on and off all day while watching the Players - working on a new stance/arm position to overcome some face issues I was having.
  16. Exhausted today after a forecaddie loop - worked with the minimum five minutes of mirroring a few swings checking the same, elbow and wrist.
  17. I do not really understand those going after the premise of the question or saying it's not realistic. Obviously reality is not so black and white, one or the other, but the question for the discussion is. For me, generally speaking, I will take the 270/300 30 off/trees over 220/fairway as we know the stats on distance and scoring. That said, in reality it completely depends on the course. My home course for example, on the 14 par 4's and 5's - if we turn that into 28 (double 14 for left and right of each fairway)- you could only play 12 of the 28 shots that are 30 yards off. The rest are either in the water, OB on private property or lost, or too deep into the woods to find and play. Out of the twelve you can play, eight will allow a shot at the green, though from extremely thick grass, while the other four you are pitching back to the fairway and not really advancing the ball so the distance did not really help. So, on my home course if it's black and white I would have to go with 220 and fairway.
  18. Range: one hour full swing working on dropping the hands as my hips fire while being conscience of P6. 10 mins putting - distance control 5-10',and 15 chipping.
  19. Mirror - continued with elbow, wrist, and P6.
  20. I haven't post in awhile, mainly because I misplaced my tripod. I have been practicing daily focusing on (not all at once): 1) Feeling wider on my backswing (90 degrees at P3). 2) Right wrist cooking correctly, and holding the position longer(bent at impact). Feel like my wrist is not straightening until after my elbow. 3) Right elbow folding correctly. Being able to see the right elbow below my left arm when viewed from face on at P3-P4. Straightening elbow after impact. Feeling like I am pumping my right arm/elbow more than swinging. 4) Transition - feeling weight transfer in a circular way. Slide and rotate together. 5) Leading with right elbow on the downswing. Keeping my forearms/elbows close and tight on the downswing. Feeling like a rotational, baseball switch get. 6) Dropping arms down faster and 'behind' me. Positives when playing: 1) Driving well. Long and straight. Need to feel a rotational baseball swing, arms together and tight, slide and rotate transition. Almost feel whippy (how I view Mickelson). Backswing - feel like I am turning right, over right leg. Feel like my right arm does not rotate. Do not over turn. Negatives: 1)Approach shots and pitching. Need to practice distance control and half swings. 2)Putting - distance control.
  21. 15 mins chipping - primarily worked on situations with little green to work with using my 60. 45 mins on the range working on my right elbow and wrist. I also worked on P6 - slow motion and pump drill. Followed practice with 9 holes.
  22. Well, I will keep posting as it's a good way to be accountable with practice, and will hopefully get me in the rhythm of practicing and posting so I can get a badge in June. Today I played nine holes focusing on the same thing: right elbow and wrist, and weight transition. I was going to work at the range, but I was practicing so much and playing so little that various lies have been giving me trouble when I do play. Tonight, I worked on the same things in front of the mirror for 20 minutes.
  23. I did not post yesterday so am breaking the rules here. Yesterday and today I worked on my backswing in the mirror for approximately 15-20 minutes. My focus was on two things - 1) my right elbow - folding early and tight to my body, and 2) my right wrist cocking. I had noticed that in weakening my right hand in the grip allowed for a better cocking which led to better right wrist action in the downswing. Basically to have my wrist position where I wanted I had to rotate my forearms too much. The new position allows for less rotation and then less casting and more lag on the downswing. Last I worked on my transition and a new feel of keeping my elbows tight and rotating more on the downswing. This feel led to extremely good driving the other day, so now I want to try it with my irons too.
