  2. I agree, out of 18 guys in my league, maybe 3 of them have a u USGA handicap.... Range is from 15-30.... with some higher and lower...
  3. I like watching the older guys play. The way they aproach the game with all of their experience... Tom Lehman and Freddy Couples are two of my favs....
  4. it wouldnt let me edit for some reason.... also found about a dozen (good) balls in a tall patch of grass near a fence while looking for my ball on 8... (which i found)
  5. Off the course is one thing, I would cough up for that, but a car parked ON the course I think is a little different. If you hit it into a parking lot or across the street I would say my bad, but if they were parked on the side of the course, I say their bad...
  6. I played a quick 9 on a course I have never played, EWCC is a Par 36, 2933 yards, course rating 33.9, slope 113. Pretty easy course... I birdied the first hole, then went bogey, double, bogey, par, double, double, triple, par for a total of 46.... which is probably the best round I have played this year. First hole felt great, 363 par 4 goes up hill then downhill the last 100 yards....... 4 iron off the tee, prob 190 so a little short but it was up hill.... then banged a 7 iron and stuck it 3 and a half feet from the hole made the putt for my first bird of the year.... One of the doubles was highway robbery, it was a par 3 137 yds.... hit a perfect 9 iron heading right for the green..... felt awesome... and it hits a power line and bounces back and right to leave me 100 yds from the center again..... The triple was a par 3 in which my ball took a swim.... happens sometimes.... the last hole is a longish 531 yard par 5... i pitched from the rough with my 9 iron for birdie hit the pin, bounced 2 inches from the hole.... Way to end it, weather was great, had a lot of fun, that's why I keep going back.
  7. Yes pretty much same thing... I like the idea of this drill, and I know I am not shifting my weight enough, while i do try to keep my hands forward... I will try this drill when I practice on Tuesday. Thanks for all the replies!!!
  8. i hit it 60 or 70 percent of the time... 30 or 40 percent mishit.... still working on it... my index is correct, accoriding to the guy in my league that takes care of handicap.... unfortunately. when I hit the ball i hit it great, but still working out more mishits than I would like, also my short game is not pretty and my putting needs improvement.... so my iron game is good, but my overall game is pretty rusty Today is a good example, I played a quick 9 on a course I have never played, I birdied the first hole, then went bogey, double, bogey, par, double, double, triple, par for a total of 46.... which is probably the best round I have played this year.
  9. Driver- Don't use it... (cant hit it, need to find one I can hit...) 3W R11sTP max loft max open - 250-260 (60-70% also don't use it a ton usually only on par 5s) 3H 230ish 4 210-215 ( My go-to... i use it instead of a driver on all par 4s) 5 200 6 185 7 170ish 8 155-160 9 145 PW 120-125 54* 100-105 Full Out 85-90 3/4 Swing 60* 85ish (Never hit it full tho) 64* 60-65 (but I usually hit it thin so I don't hit it full either) I have high launch so my ball carries far, but i don't get much roll, except where I don't want roll (on the green) Because of my inconsistency with woods, which is getting better, I use a lot of irons, I would rather hit a 4i + 5i in the middle and get on or close than hit further and be in trouble...
  10. I start with the left hand, getting myself aligned, then put on my right, at address I think my left hand grips a little tighter than my right, maybe 3/10 with left, and 2/10 right... I have been working on not squeezing as I start my downswing, because I believe this was killing my clubhead speed.
  11. ahhhhh I see, so I was thinking the opposite, I will try this tomorrow on the course, thanks for the quick reply...
  12. Can you elaborate a little, do you mean start with a weaker grip, then get stronger on backswing?
  13. Sometimes, maybe 5-10% of the time, I will hit a bad pull, I feel it as soon as it happens, if i set my club back down without moving it, it will be closed, alot... I have no idea where I am doing it or how, I can't seem to emulate it when swinging slowly, only full speed on impact.... I was thinking it must have something to do with my grip, because the club is literally turning not my wrists, I think... I have tried gripping harder, but that just makes a mess of things.. I know without video it is difficult to advise on these things, I will try to get some video when I play tomorrow. Thanks
  14. About 8 years ago, I hit what was probably my best ever drive at the time, over the green of a short par 4, after a bounce it broke the second story window of the clubhouse. They told me that it was no big deal, as everyone could vouch that it was an accident, a week later they had a new window, and no hard feelings.... I think if its in the way of the golf ball, its at the owners risk..... My wife plays softball, and there is a sign at the field behind the backstop (which is the parking lot) that says, "Foul Ball Area, Park at Your own Risk." So id say its their own problem just my $.02... also glass is covered (in most states) and it doesn't count as a claim on your policy or anything, so it shouldn't be an issue.
