  1. zeitgeist Registered User "My right hand is hurting. It's an 'arthritic' ache." Where exactly is the pain in your hand? Is it in the palm or the finger joints? Do you have an issue with any of your fingers 'locking up' or the joints feeling 'clunky? I've suffered and suffer from tendinitis and arthritis in my hands off and on. The two conditions require different treatment so it's important to make an accurate diagnosis.
  2. Been doing some great work with Stephan from Evolvr. We're working on trying to reduce the rate of closure and extension in my downswing and follow through as I tend to flip the club over too quickly casuing all manner of horrors. This is my latest video, it's a drill I've been working on to slow down the 'roc' and increase my extension after impact. Really getting the hang of the drill just need to put it into practice with my full swing now. I have already noticed an improvement in my shot dispersion, none of those nasty snap hooks for a while now .
  3. A few pictures can tell a thousand words. In fact a few thousand, almost enough to fill a few books in fact From left to right, Brendan Steele, T9th Driving Distance 2014 Carl Pettersson , 7th Driving Distance 2014 Lucas Glover, 11th Driving Distance 2014 Scott Piercy, 3rd Driving Distance 2014
  4. At my old course we had a winter mat that aimed about 50 yards out of bounds. Now that definitely screwed with your head. I think this is where visualisation becomes very important :-)
  5. Thanks the compliments, I think lol. My hands are a sore point (literally) at the moment. I've been suffering from 'trigger finger' tendonitis in both of them. I'm supposed to rest them but sod that wen there is golf to play :-)
  6. Been ages since I last posted but I've been busy working on my impact position. I took someones advice on here (I think it was JetFan, (thanks JetFan)) and looked up Evolvr. With the help from Stephan at Evolvr we have been trying to get my hands further foward at impact and consequently a flatter left wrist. I have to say this has been one of the hardest things I have ever had to work on in my swing. I think it's been 3 months of work now but I am really starting to see some benefit in my ball striking. Here is my latest video from a face on angle. It is easier to see the improvements in these comparison pictures. NOW BEFORE NOW BEFORE As you can see some definite improvements. The only thing is, I want to improve this even more. Ideally I want my hands to be more infront of my right thigh in the first picture and more in front of my left thigh in the second pictue. I don't know if any of you guys have ever had problems working on this position and if so what drills, swing thoughts you used to achieve a better impact position? I would love to hear any advice/feedback. Thanks. Dan.
  7. Thanks JetFan I will take a look.
  8. Yeah cheers spyder. I just read this could be a cause. It's funny because I've been trying out standing further away to give myself more room. Golf is always a game of opposites lol
  9. Hi guys just wanted to post an update. I've been working on getting my hands more forward at impact with very little success unfortunately. But today I may have figured out why. It appears that I am thrusting my right hip at the ball which is causing me to not have enough room to bring my arms through. I've got a few pictures of my swing compared to Hunter Mahan's and I've noticed just how much closer my right hip gets to the ball. In the first set of pics my backside moves towards the ball where Hunter's if anything moves away from the ball. In the second set you can see how much further my right hip is over my toes when compared to Hunter's. Am I barking up the wrong tree here guys or is this definitely my problem? Cheers Dan.
  10. Cheers mvmac, hadn't noticed my grip slip. It's something that tends to happen so I have to keep my eye on it.
  11. What shot/miss is it you are struggling with? I notice you put shank/slice above your video. Generally these two shots are mutually exclusive, a slice is normally a result of an out to in path and a shank the opposite. You maybe hitting a push slice.
  12. Yeah, I always makw sure I line myself up with a point a few feet in front of me, say a divot or something, it is much easier then trying to line yourself up with something 200 yards away
  13. He's not really over swinging but I know what you are getting at. My club goes across the line when I over swing but it is on line when it is parallel to the ground so I'm not really across the line. Tony's problem is that he is very much across the line at parallel so shortening his swing would not help.
  14. No probs Tony. The easiest thing you can do is make a backswing, stop at the top and turn and look where the club is pointing. Make sure it's pointing at the target and that is the feeling you want to take into your proper swing
  15. No that's great thanks JetFan. Interestingly if I do a 3/4 swing I can get my left wrist flat at impact. Maybe that is because my arms don't have to move so far and fast. Speeding my arms up might be the key. It's like you said you hear so often not to swing with your arms but let your body do it you become sort of brainwashed
