  1. Thanks guys. Yea I don't know what I'm going to do if I don't take part in this thread. I might just hang out a bit if you don't mind.:-) I guess I need to start keeping a handicap.
  2. 8 fairways, 6 greens, 32 putts. 38 on the front. 39 on the back. 77, Its hard to sit still.
  3. Played with out my driver but I had a blow up hole +4. kinda screwed up the hole deal. Omitting that hole I was 3 over through 9. #16, I hate it, its not a difficult hole but its in my head. Might be the same issue with my driver. Who knows. #16 366 par 4, should be an easy one, but its got my number.
  4. Same here. 95 and 88 were my last two rounds. The tee box is killing me and just about everything is spotty at best it seems with the exception of my iron play. Due to the fact that I'm starting most holes behind the 8 ball. I've lost a lot of confidence since my 83. Mainly due to my driving once again going into the gutter. It seems like I get one good round a year out of my driver and it tends to be the lowest of my season. As soon as I can I'm going to my pro to see about a driving only lesson. If I drive the ball well I score low. Next time I go out its 3 wood all the way around. I am interested to see what the scoring is like if I leave the driver in the bag. I need a break from it. I'm starting to get those flashes of a very satisfying act of snapping the G. D. thing over my knee. (venting)
  5. Has anyone here ever killed anyone?
  6. 96 today, the tee box was killing me. My chipping practice paid off and save me twice. But besides one really good putt on the first hole I really felt like I took a huge step back. I have to get my driver figured out other wise I think I am going to be stuck in the 90's. Bad thing is that if I am having so much trouble with the big stick, my whole swing is suspect.
  7. I started to sniff the elusive draw on the range yesterday. I think Im going to reread hogans book this weekend. Everyone have a safe and happy fourth. cheers
  8. Went out and played the other day. I didn't score as low as the other day but I was hitting the ball pretty well. I got to play with a friend that I don't get to hang out with a very much so it was more screwing around than anything. I had a really good time. But my left knee is killing me. I know I was having a problem getting my weight forward but if this is the result of amending that swing fault I don't know how much longer I will be playing golf. The Idea of tearing up my knee has no appeal whatsoever. Has anyone hear had any experience with this?
  9. Par: 72 Length: 7,012/6,567/ 5,958 /5,333 Slope: 119/117/ 115 /111 Course Rating: 71.9/70.2/69.1/68.3 83. I didn't think that it was going to happen today. It started off bad but it turned around at the 7th hole. I hope that I can break 85 again next week. Last time I hit a goal I didn't do it again for almost a year.
  10. @teamroper60 If you handicap is correct at 18. I would say that officially your no longer a bogie golfer. Is there a nick name for the next step up?
  11. Getting my weight forward has been one of toughest things I have had to do. My hopefully "old" habit was staying back and spinning out. I had one of the most impressive slices in the history of golf. By the Looks of your scores you are going straight to the mid eighties maybe lower once you get that one figured out. Jerk.:-D :-P
  12. @Lihu, Thats a good Idea. I was thinking about doing the same thing people do with chipping. But I don't think that I am going to be able to unless I find an open field and a surveyor's wheel. But once again I am going overboard. I did go out today, and play nine at a course near by. I managed to beat my best score by 4 stokes, and it was my third time out in as many days at this particular course. I hit 2 fairways and four greens. I also had a first today, back to back birdies. I have been playing for 8 years and have had as many birdies in that time. To get two more of them back to back was awesome! My game keeps coming along. All though my wedges are not as reliable as they once were. I'm blocking them right with shots between 50-100 yards I don't know what I'm doing but some range time should address the problem. If everything keeps trending in this direction i should be able to shoot 85 before the end of this season.
  13. I need to get my distances again. I have been striking the ball better and have gained a few yards here and there. So I am guessing with my shots. I wont spend the money to go to a simulator to get my "gaps". So do any of you guys have a reliable method that establishes your club distances? I do not have a laser other wise I would use that. Any thoughts?
  14. I'm experiencing the same thing. I think its a pretty common theme at our skill level. Irons good tee shots bad. Tee shots good and the irons are all over the place. Hitting greens then three putting. I really don't know what to tell you. All I can say is I feel your pain. I don't know what the hell I'm going to do if it all comes together. Probably get struck buy lighting while standing over my birdie putt on the 18th green. Thats golf.
  15. Go take lessons. Thats the only "tip" that has ever worked for me.
  16. Got another birdie the other day. That brings my lifetime total to eight. lol. I did stick with the pitching wedge around the greens. makes things less interesting so I am going to stick with that.
  17. I carry a 52*,56*, and a 60*. I played today and use them on the front nine. The back nine I went back to using just my pitching wedge wedge around the green like I did went I first started playing. I managed to save par 3 times if I remember correctly. While on the the front 9 it cost me at least 6 strokes using the "fancy wedges". My putting has improved, and my ball striking is coming along. If I can start getting up and down 25% of the time, I should be able to reach my goal of shooting an 85 by the end of the year.
  18. Transferring my weight is a huge problem for me. But I am getting better at it. My driver is my biggest concern right now. Im going through the same thing I do every year. Irons work, driver sucks. Driver works irons are crap. My putting has improved a lot so over all I am pretty happy with my game for the amount of time i get to put into it.
  19. Webb Simpson -6 Angel Cabrera -6 Jim Furyk -5
  20. I'm a big fan of mark crossfield. No advise to give you as far as casting. I can't help my self so I'm not going to steer you in the wrong direction. The only thing I will say is that trying different drills from the internet and magazines is fun. It can leave you chasing your tail. Most when your having problems its due to more than one thing going wrong. Thats were your golf pro comes in. If you want to make progress and fast go get a lesson or two.
  21. So after some lessons and a year of practice I'm getting closer to the proper impact position. I'm still recording scores in the mid to high 40's through 9 holes. Things are looking up. I'll post my next round of 18. Well see if the changes stick through out a whole round.
  22. lol yes. Of course since they don't sell guns to criminals. Its good to know were you can get some. :-P
  23. If I was to break into his house I would leave my guns at home. If I broke into yours I would bring three guys, all armed. If I were a criminal that is. Probably not the best sign.
