  1. I just booked a flight to costa rica with a few buddies of mine and we were thinking of playing somewhere out there. Anyone have any suggestions on good yet cheaper courses out there..? I'm looking at possibly under $100, and somewhere relatively close to the airport (san jose/alajuela) or Jaco beach. Thanks!
  2. I recenty got my CG Gold irons, and while choosing i demo-ed the Callaway Big Berthas. They are amazingly forgiving. I just didnt like how they looked at address, they are big, bulky, and very clumsy looking which kind of made me feel as if i was using a childrens set of irons. Although they hit well, i would recommend to go a different route. You dont want to learn to play golf with irons that basically do all the work for you, leaving no room for improvement and fancy shot work. If between these or the sumos, Id say go with the Sumo. I really think you should look in either the Cleveland CG Gold, or PING G10- either of those are great irons.
  3. Getting the gap wedge would make sense and definetely fill in that gap between the PW and SW, but I still feel its a bit unneccessary. I could basicaly just hit my SW a bit stronger, or PW a bit softer (big fan of my PW). I want more of a lob wedge that wold get me those nice finesse flop shots...60* too much? maybe 58*...?
  4. Ive basically settled on using the NXT over others, but never tried the bridgestone. Heard many good thing though.
  5. maybe a 2i 19* hybrid, and then a 15* 3-wood? i think this is the combo i will ultimately have.
  6. "PlayItAgain Sports" has some used balls complete with a bin full of ProV1s for $1 each here in gainesville florida. I was amazed when I saw it, 75% of the balls in the bin look as though they have never been touched, brand new clean white color. They also sell Callaway and Nike balls at .75 a pop, and have a huge bin with random balls at 25 for $7.00.
  7. So I was wondering what you all thought would be the best loft of wedge for me to get, if only one wedge. I basically just started seriously getting into golf, although i have been paying on and off using my dad's clubs here and there my whole life. My current clubs are in my sig, and so far I was thinking 60*. My PW is at 45* and SW 55*. What would you all recommend if I were to only get one more wedge (CG14 by the way). Thanks in advance!
  8. just out of curiousity, what do you all think of these shafts, particularly the SL version..?
  9. try out the cleveland hibore XLS. At first i bought the 3i at 22*, but the ball was definitely sailing a bit too much. I traded it in for a 2i with a very stiff red shaft, all I can say is WOW. Very easy to hit, piercing ball flight, and very very straight hitting.
  10. So im in the market for a 3-wood, and im definitely going to demo a few before i settle on one. Any suggestions on good ones to check out? So far im thinking Cleveland hibore XLS, Nike SQ Sumo, and Ping G10. Im leaning towards the XLS simply because thats the driver I currently use. Any thoughts..?
  11. No problem...most likely sometime this week.
  12. These are all employee discount prices a buddy helped me out with.. all BRAND NEW Cleveland Hibore XL- 100 TM Rossa Daytona 1- 85 2i Hibore XLS Hybrid- 140 Cleveland CG Gold 4-SW- 500 60* Cleveland CG14- 90 Nike Florida Gator Goldbag- Free Nike SP4 Shoes 20 Not bad for +/- $935 total!!
  13. Anyone else play TM Rossa Daytona 1? I just got one recently and have to say that i just love it. I feel that the odyssey is a bit squishy feeling, while others have too much solid bounce to them. The Rossa line has a great mix of both worlds. Also, what makes a Scotty Cameron so great/expensive? Is it basically reputation or is it actually worth $300
  14. I'm actually about to buy a 60* CG14 black pearl, after some light researching. Although the "gelback" technology is kind of unneeded in a wedge, cleveland has produced very solid wedges for years. Also I just think its a very attractive club, and fits in well with my CG gold Irons . A friend of mine just bought a Carbite wedge for 19.99, and I would have to recommend it. It actually hits very nice, and an amazing deal. http://www.tgw.com/customer/category...TEGORY_ID/9292
