  1. Early on.... yes. It was ALL about looks. Now.... not a chance in the world. The putter has to be about feel and confidence. For me, looks gives me neither of those things.
  2. What's a ball sharpie? I just use a regulator sharpie.
  3. I will be in Prattville, AL and will have time to play two rounds. Should I play the Judge, Senator, or Legislator? (Select two and tell me why)
  4. Do you prefer a blade or mallet?
  5. For years I have used a brass wheel to clean and get the shine back into my irons. Anyone have a better or different technique?
  6. A putter is such a personal choice. We need to know more about your game. Of course, the easy answer is, "get a Scotty Cameron." (The last bit was a joke... kind of)
  7. Young Bros. Stamp Works. It's what the Vokey Team uses.
  8. Letter stamping is EASY. There are several very good YouTube videos that show how. There is even one from the Titleist tour bus.
  9. I only have one set. Once I get comfortable with a new set I give my old ones away to a new golfer. It helps them get into the game quicker. I always tell them they have to return the favor for someone else one day. For all I know there are some 1990 Lynx blades still tearing up the course somewhere.
  10. Those look great. Do you do anything special to them before/during/after a round?
  11. If so, does it wear well? Does anyone have pictures of their 588 RTX Black Pearl wedges? I would like to see the wear on the color of the wedge. Thanks!
  12. Then you weren't paying attention. Those guys were whining like babies about Merion Golf Club. I do agree with you though, everyone plays the same course, they need to get over it. I do suppose the morning vs afternoon grouping may have something to bicker about, but those morning guys just need to shoot better the day before.
  13. Glad there was a happy ending. What style wedge did you get?
  14. Taking a long putter and turning it into a standard putter is a bad idea. The weight/balance/angle will all be off. You would be better off to reshaft as a long putter, sell it, and buy a standard.
  15. I see what you did there.... clever. Very clever. Now go eat a corn dog.
  16. Wait until you get the set and then ask about club choice.
  17. You weren't the only person I made mentioned of the "off-topic" post. Just keeping it fair and balanced.
  18. This is true, but has nothing to do with this thread topic.
  19. I know you already know this, but you get what you pay for. Those clubs don't even look like they have a proper ferrule. Lesson learned. Enjoy the Cleveland's!
  20. Muirfield Golf Links is a challenging course, but does it deserve the tough love these pros are giving it? I heard Lee Trevino talking about how those guys will complain about the British Open and US Open course toughness. However, Trevino mentioned they never talk down about Augusta National out of fear. Should the pros quit their belly-aching or do they have a legit leg to stand on?
  21. Seriously? An SC putter allows you to get serious feel when you putt. Have you noticed different lengths have different weights? That's for both balance and feel.
  22. Disagree. The SC putters are designed to give you more feel from the ball. It all starts with a solid block of 303 and becomes a piece of art that is functional as a putter. Sure, I may be more inclined to take a SC over ANY other putter, but that's because to me, and the majority of tour players, SC is the best out there. And don't start that "Scottty pays players to use his stuff" mess. When it comes to getting a tour win, your putter is chosen by what you have confidence in, not which one will pay you a few grand a tournament. All of this on a thread that was started to talk about our "first SC." To wrap-up, I do believe a putter is a personal choice. However, I also believe that SC has enough options that anyone could find a style they like. Some would just rather spend their money on a club they swing a dozen times off the tee box instead of a club that probably accounts for 30+ strokes a round.
  23. Feel.
