  1. I used to hit a Taylor Made 510 until the face cracked. I demoed a Cobra SZ400 tour and haven't looked back. It's straight, forgiving and I can move it left or right. It's not obnoxiously huge, but it does have a high face, so you might have to get used to it. You can get one on ebay new for about $100. Make sure to get the tour since that one doesn't have the closed face and will come with the Fujikura shaft.
  2. Thanks for helping out. I'll try pitching/chipping out of the harder stuff.
  3. I recently have been playing some courses that have sand that's pretty firm. I'm used to soft sand and am actually really good out of it. (I practiced in it until I was comfortable with it) With the firmer sand it seems like I'm catching too much ball and the ball flies. I've tried closing the face a little bit to take some bounce out my wedge but I'm still having major problems. Anyone have some good tips before I go get some practice in? Thanks.
  4. I actually used to play them. They are a decent set of wedges. I switched to Cleveland 900's a little while back. I do like the Clevelands much better due to how solid they feel when you hit the ball and I believe they have a bit more forgiveness on a slightly offcenter strike. You can do a lot worse then Watson wedges though. From a one to ten I'd give them a 7 with a my current Clevelands a 9.
  5. I just regripped my S Wedge a few hours ago. (first time I've done it). It actually went well, but during the process I somehow managed to spill some grip solvent, don't ask, on my new roll of grip tape. Will the tape be fine and regain it's stickiness in a few hours after it dries, or should i put an order in for some more tape? Thanks, I appreciate the help with my rookie question!
  6. I'm not a reality tv person, but I've seen just about every season of this show (thanks to the DVR). They may not have the greatest golfers, but they have some really good looking woman this year. I think some of the poor play can be attributed to the amount of pressure these people are under. When you play a round of golf, even if it's for the club championship, you have a ton of oppurtunities to make up for a poor shot. These people often get one chance, and if they fail, they, and all there family and friends, get to watch it on tv.
  7. I don't agree with many people's assertion that Jack had better competition. Golf has never been more competitive than it is today. The reason that Tiger doesn't have a Palmer or Watson is that he's so much better than all of the great, and I do mean great golfers out there today. It's harder than ever to win on the tour and Tiger does it consistently.
  8. I'm a chemist who works in sales. Flexible schedule is pretty good for playing golf as well as seeing a lot of courses since I travel a ton.
