  1. I looked into the range balls, I just couldn't find a place to order them, or in a quantity conducive to a tournament. I'm thinking that 6-12 balls a player should be good, even if we have a huge group of 50 that's only 600, not the 1000 ball orders I've seen online so far.
  2. Hello all, I haven't been active on here for a while. Ive been too busy at work. Got promoted to Head employee. I have a thought for a unique tournament idea. Our course is shorter 6700 from longest, and I thought about using reduced flight balls to give everyone the feeling of ball flight when the course was made (56') i know its not a 100% percent correlation, but just for a fun unique idea (It was must likely be an MGA event and scramble, where there's more drinking than golfing) My only problem is finding the golf balls for it. Ive looked online and in the few books i can find for ordering at the club but cant seem to find any reduced flight balls, range or otherwise. Do any of you know where to find any?
  3. hey I'm looking to upgrade from my Rocketballz stage 2 4 wood. But I'm just debating on sticking to regular flex or going up to stiff flex. I currently hit driver about 240 on the carry. Its regular flex, but im just worried if i step up to stiff that i might not be able to get it airborne or keep it airborne. I'm looking at either SLDR or the SLDRS 3hl fairways. Any help would be appreciated.
  4. Lol, dang lack of a spellcheck... yeah it will live for ever.
  5. Ive recently started to right a book, just didnt know if anyone else on here is, or has wrote a book.
  6. Id lay up simply because its too far for me to hit. That said even if i could hit the distance. I would still layup. As a 24 handicap, I feel that i risk a huge number 6-8 strokes by going for it. Yes i may get lucky and get on, or i may get bunkered. At least by laying up i narrow the chances of a big number.
  7. I'd love to try that at my house, but there's way to much glass around.
  8. Yeah, i agree, i need the ferrule but none fit so i was forced to go without one. It had 6 months to dry. No obvious cracks, but i haven't been using it that much. Ive been getting more than enough yards out of my 4 wood (cranked one to 270 with roll the other day, wish that was average though lol). i may carry it a little bit in the spring when i get off the simulator and have some time to actually test it.
  9. OK i re glued the head on,but now I'm leery of hitting it. A classmate told that after breaking the end of the shaft shaft two times the shaft might be compromised. Does that make any sense to you all or is it not a valid point?
  10. Well, it happened again,I was on the driving range, hitting a teed up ball and the head went flying down the range. Based on the looks of it the shaft just pulled out of it. Was it just bad epoxy or could i just be catching the tee and rippping the heads off?
  11. Interesting thought Patch, My only thought about that is that very few golfers keep and maintain a handicap ( believe i heard somewhere that only 10% of golfers do) , which is why i thought to mention stable ford as well. Since you can pickup up after bogey ( or whatever you set it at) it could speed up round times, their would be less frustration as you wouldn't have to sit there and write down a ten on those two blow-up holes. Any thoughts on promoting stable ford formatting?
  12. Recently i had a chance to play on a practice green featuring two 15 inch cups. Without doubt it was not as easy as i had thought, I went up and hit the ball without reading the line, or speed; and proceeded to miss it right and short. However this article isn't about how my putting went with it, rather how my chipping went with it. Again i thought it would be easier with this large cup to make them in, and i was making more than usual but a thought dawned on me, rather than try to incorporate these oversize cups into golf, and onto regular golf greens, why not put them in front or beside existing greens, and the objective be to chip the ball in from the fairway. This will allow an experienced player the ability to play a regular green without the distraction of a huge hole in it, while also allowing the beginner in his foursome to play a game golf without putting, and the complex and time consuming procedures that go with it. And the player who just wants to go out and hit golf balls can do just that, again without putting. My second thought is on promoting stable-ford formatting for daily play. This will increase time of the rounds through only allowing a single or a double bogey, as compared to putting it in the hole. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on this.
  13. I would like to get out and walk the course, but at the same time realize its going to take awhile to do so, so im looking for a good bag thats light enough to carry, but with the ability to be strapped on the back of a golf cart. Was looking at the titleist carry bag, anyone have one and mind sharing their thoughts?
  14. This question is similar to one i have at the moment. Will a TP loft sleeve fit in the non TP driver? Im looking at shaft and sleeve combos on amazon, but they all seem to have the .335 sleeve for the TP version, where as the regular is a .350 for the shaft end. I just dont know if the .355/.350 is just for the shafts or for the sleeve housing as well.
