Yes, he does look confused and even worse he now seems to accept the fact that he just cannot play well. But what else can he do? So if he plays he hurts his back which doesn't allow him to get even "more reps"---as Tiger says he needs. I guess we will just have to wait and see what the future has in store for him.

You do not have to subscribe as so many free one's are available. Just enter "yoga you tube" into Google and see which one's you might enjoy. And lots of pretty instructors make it even more enjoyable. :o)

Nice post! Certainly nobody here knows for sure. And your theory that he may have started using them to help "heal" some of his injured body parts seems very logical. But it now seems that all of the personal issues he has had for the last decade may have even impaired his ability to concentrate. Certainly he has a long way to go to get his golf game back.

Woods' association with a tainted trainer just added fuel to the fire that he was using PED's. Of course only Tiger and his trainer know for sure. I really could not care as I think all athletes should use any drugs or PED's they can find. My only thought about "steroids" was that he had bulked up so much that he had damaged his spine in trying to rotate. So chill out as I could care less what Tiger did to get larger.

Chuckle! If you get a chance to look at the internet look at Woods' photos in 2000 when he was still pretty skinny. Then go forward to 2014 when Woods looked like he had gained tons of weight, especially around the neck, shoulders, and chest and a loss of hair. So it was not like some high school kid suddenly gaining weight after he graduated. Of course there is no way of actually knowing Woods' weight at any age as the PGA Tour only goes by what the players tell them.

Thanks for your opinion.

Hey, it's just my opinion---and it differs from yours. But the fact is that Woods has gained in excess of 30 pounds. Check out the internet articles confirming this. Have a nice day!

Woods is not yet 40 years old so middle age spread has not yet set in. So he should look pretty much the same as his metabolism would have slowed very little. I don't know how much weight he has gained but I'd think 20-25 pounds would be close. So we can all speculate what caused this change.

Oh, whether it is Woods, Bonds, McGuire, or Sosa they all used performance enhancing drugs to bulk up. I was watching the golf telecast last week and the tv guys had photos and video of the young Woods and the older Woods. The younger Woods was a skinny guy with his clothes hanging off his body where the current Woods is a bulked up guy with huge shoulders and chest. Of course photo comparisons of McGuire, Sosa, and Bonds would have looked the same. So we can agree to disagree.

Good call by Tiger as at least he now sees what others see---- he is now a 7 to 10 handicap golfer. Doubtful that he will play in the Masters or perhaps any other tournaments for the rest of the year. But at least "doubt" instead of "retirement" keeps his name in the news for a possible return at some point. And it must literally scare him to death that when he returns he may play even worse than he plays now. So tv tournaments will now be relegated to showing past Tiger highlights back in the "good old days" when he was the best in the world. And when there are tournament rain delays perhaps old video of Tiger winning those tournaments in the past will be replayed. And we will be reminded of the player that he once was.

There are actually you tub web sites that offer free yoga video and instruction. Plus there is a site for yoga beginners that explains yoga from A to Z and shows the various yoga poses. So if one wants to learn and exercise with yoga there is really no reason why they cannot. And there are even specific yoga exercises for those with high pressure and might get a little woozy from some of the yoga poses where the head is below the heart. So just skip those and do the one's that you can.

Well, call it performance enhancing drugs or steroids as the result is the same. Body builders use steroids to muscle up and add weight. That is what happened to Woods. My only beef ever with Woods was him throwing clubs and using vulgar language like a spoiled child. His marital problems and personal life did not matter to me. No doubt he was the best golfer of my generation but any objective observer would look at Tiger's performance over the last year or so and see that he is finished. I was watching Golf Channel this morning and they had a chart showing that in his last 9 starts he made the cut only one time and finished in 69Th place (British Open). The other times he either missed the cut or withdrew. So what could possibly give you hope that Woods can return to form? His back is so bad that he now uses language like "could not activate my glutes". Has he never heard about a sore or tight lower back muscles? So what makes his back sore? Older age with a weak lower back and still trying to swing as hard as he did when he was 23 because he needs the driving distance to keep up with the flat bellies. He just can no longer do that and stay healthy enough to even play, let alone compete. But it does not hurt for him to try, except possibly making his weakened back even worse.

No doubt in my mind that Woods went from being a lanky young golfer to later a steroided-up Barry Bonds lookalike. And the PGA Tour officials apparently just turned their heads to what was happening with their "cash cow". But here in the end this bulked-up look hurt Woods as this bulky frame was more difficult to rotate the older Woods got. And now his spine has been twisted so much that it can no longer take this rotation. Will Woods lose 30-35 pounds to become slimmer? Might not matter much as the damage has already been done.

If one cannot chip nor putt, they cannot compete on any professional tour, and certainly not the PGA Tour. Plus Tiger has self-induced back injuries caused by him forgetting that he is older and can no longer make the types of full swings that he made as a 20 year old. But if he makes these changes his swing speed will be drastically reduced thus resulting in an unacceptable driving distance that would not allow him to compete. So he is now a professional golfer with possible career ending back injuries plus possible career ending short game problems. If he wants to stay in the game it would be as a golf analyst on tv.

Man shoots golfer who hit errant shot thru his home window WOW
Saintsmania replied to atxpkrgolf's topic in Golf Talk
I've been playing golf for 40+ years and have broken one window in a house. The house was really behind and to the side of me as my ball struck a tree directly in line with the flag but the ball then ricocheted into a home about 30 yards off the course. I knocked on the door and gave them my insurance information so they could replace their window at no cost to them. And I chuckle when some will say that "Hey, you live on a golf course." thus implying that it is the homeowners' fault that his house was hit. My answer would be "No, my house is not on, but merely adjacent to a golf course and at least 50 to 60 yards from the center of the fairway. So even though the golfer breaking a window is not legally liable with hitting a normal shot, it is just courtesy to pay for the broken window, especially when your homeowner liability coverage will pay for it at no cost to neither the golfer nor the homeowner. -
Actually anyone should be able to play but they should play fast and with a purpose. So I would rather play with a really bad player who plays fast than some single digit handicapper who surveys the green from all angles and does everything but use a vacuum cleaner. So it is fast play that makes it a pleasure to play with someone, not necessarily their golf skills.

The (un)Affordable Health Care Act & Debt Ceiling Controversies
Saintsmania replied to dfreuter415's topic in The Grill Room
Our forefathers did not want our citizens to be career politicians. What they wanted was for citizens to go to our nation's capital and spend maybe two to four years and then return forever to their homes to work at their normal occupation. The ACA was nothing more than Obama getting the federal government totally in control of our healthcare in this country. And just a socialistic act with his redistribution of wealth where he gives some very costly healthcare premiums so they can pay for others who get very inexpensive healthcare policies. Just more of Obama picking winners and losers as he marches this country even more deeply into socialism/communism.
