Is it proper etiquette to pick your ball up after you reach double par? I was out yesterday with a buddy of mine and he proceeded to shoot a 12 on a par 5. I advised him that he should have picked up his after his 10th shot. Do you pick your ball up after double par or do you just keep playing until you get the ball in the cup?
Thanks for the tip guys. So we have a winner! The electric tape worked! HAHAHA Its incredible how the mind plays tricks on you. After about 40 balls I took the tape off my clubs and went from PW-5. Im very happy with the results. I know I still have a lot to work on as far as my swing but at least I dont have my mind playing tricks on me now. Thanks TCC and everyone else for your help.
I actually just had them fitted...couldnt hit it before I got fitted either...LOL! Id really like to get this problem fixed because I think its keeping me from my goal this year which is to shoot mid 90's by the end of the season.
Ill start off by saying I normally shoot 101-103 consistently. My problem is that I can hit my 7i-PW easily and I can hit my 3 and 4 hybrid IMO pretty well for a high handicapper (normally straight or with a nice draw). I can also hit my 5i pretty decent. The problem is that I cannot hit my 6i to save my life. Is it all in my head? I keep the ball with ALL my irons in the middle of my stance. Unfortunatly I dont have a video to show you all. Its gotten to the point now that I take my 6i and only my 6i at the range and that is all I practice. I will say that when I do the drill where I take my normal stance and then put my right foot back that I hit the 6i nice and straight. Maybe I should just put my right foot back on the course...LOL!
I would think that because of all the money that Nike has that they would be able to put that towards all the R + D in the world and come up with a superior product. Just my opinion.
I had the Callaway Big Bertha irons but switched to the Nike slingshots because they were 100x easier for ME to hit. I can see however how low handicappers would not like them because it is true that they are geared towards high handicappers. I look at it this way...Nike should be congratulated for gearing most of their products towards high handicappers and introducing people to the game...more $ for golf! If I was just getting started on the game and had no idea about golf equipment would I go with Titleist or Nike...well IMO that person would probably go with Nike for the name alone because Nike is such a well known name.
My golf instructor had me use the "inside approach" training tool to help me. Also he had me take my regular stance, then move my right foot back and swing normally, feels odd but it really does work.
