  1. Playing in Central California with my wife, we saw what we thought was a tree branch on the green as we teed of on a par 3. My ball rolled within about 3 feet, and my wife's almost hit it on the fly, hopping over it. When we got to the green, we saw that it was a very large rattle snake! Needless to say, we did not go ball hunting off the fairway for the rest of the round.
  2. You only need the battery that comes with the unit, so no need to buy a second. You can get a belt clip, but I just put it in my packet. I have been thinking of getting one of those cell phone swivel clips from Best Buy. It should work very well.
  3. UPro says that they will be updating the software to also keep score. Looking forward to that.
  4. I also turned off the auto hole update option. It was annoying.
  5. Also, when purchasing a UPro, make sure that you choose a 'Home Course' that has not yet been mapped. You can download any course you want as your free course (you do not have to download your 'Home Course'), but choosing one that has not been mapped gets that course done in 4 days, and adds to the list of mapped courses.
  6. If things freeze on you, remember what you were doing, and what hole you were on. Then call UPro support and let them know. They can usually fix the issue if they know exactly when and how it happened.
  7. The decisions area is great on that site. It is interesting that they would make a decision on something like this instead of clarifying it in the rule itself.
  8. Where in the rules does it say this? The only rule that I find applicable says that a player or caddie may not press down nor remove any irregularities of surface near a ball in play, which would include a ball that is still teed up after a whiff.
  9. Because the ball is not yet in play.
  10. I am not sure if you can do that with a SkyCaddie, but you can with a UPro.
  11. My favorite way to handle putting speed is to imagine the golf ball in my hand and what kind of arm motion it would take to roll/bowl it to the hole. I then mimic that with my putting stroke, and have found that my lag putts have very good speed.
  12. I just got mine, and when I put my putter on the roller, the roller moves and bumps the ball out of position while I get the putter to stick to the magnets. How are others handling this?
  13. Volleyball, basketball and track.
  14. Shot 91 at The Homestead in Midway, Utah. Lost strokes with my wedges and a couple of bad putting holes, but otherwise played ok.
  15. That makes it easy for you. The fitter can set up that club for you, and then show you a couple others that you might like to see how you hit them.
  16. I love both the Apex and Apex Plus from Hogan. Just beautiful.
  17. Do you know that you want that driver because you have hit a bunch of drivers, or for some other reason? The great thing about going to Golfsmith is that you can hit multiple drivers with multiple setups to find what works best for you.
  18. I would go to a fitter before you decide what kind of clubs to buy. Hit a bunch of clubs to see what feels best, and which ones you hit best, and then buy the clubs the best clubs for you that also fit your budget.
