  1. http://www.braemargolf.com/ Nice course but like some others in the Twin Cities, you really need to live in the city and buy the patron card to get on it regularly.
  2. Software dork.
  3. I replace my 3, 4, 5 and 6 irons. Higher handicaps need to have the courage to put the club in their bag that allows them to be the most consistent and accurate given their strengths and weaknesses. For a lot of us the longer irons get progressively harder and harder to hit. I'm supposed to play a 6 iron because someone who is either a better long iron player, a staunch traditionalist, or just a small-minded bully thinks it's some sort of sign of weakness? Only the score goes on the card, guys.
  4. I think Stan Utley's new short game book suggests wedges flatter than the natural progression of your wedges... That might be something to refer to. My clubs were done by a custom maker and they just progressed the lies to the gap wedge and then kept them the same. They didn't add another 0.5 degrees of lie angle between the gap and sand, or between sand and loft. The generic advice that some sort of dynamic lie angle test is really the best way to know what is optimal for you.
