  1. Jeez, I'm only f***in' with you man
  2. If my family needed money and they wouldn't give me any under my current name, of course I would use an alias. Its certainly fraud but I wouldn't go as far as to call it lying.
  3. It good to let off a little steam now and again. There's a liar and there's an imaginative person. I consider myself the latter. What can I do if you decide in your big brother tactics to ban me. OK I was using aliases but is that really lying. Shoot me!
  4. Although the thread is called "Liar, Liar", the point is to tell the truth you imbecile. Sorry, there's my truthful stuff slipping out again. Imbecile isn't that strong, is it?
  5. I take it you are no longer a pro if you have a current handicap. I'll be applying for amateur status in the future and look forward to playing for a handicap. I reckon somewhere between 3 and 5, really depends on the length of the course I'm playing. There's usually 2 -3 par 4's I can't reach in regulation.
  6. At this time of year I'm skiing up there and the golf course is used for Nordic Skiing.
  7. The ball flight can't really be determined by this picture, it doesn't seem to be slicing . The face angle is also unclear. I am aligning right of my target but not substantially. This ball probably ended roughly where I wanted it, I mostly aim between the two huts you see in the distance. You may be confusing this image with the shot I was describing at the beginning of the thread. Don't forget Erik dug out this image. I would suggest this was a draw.
  8. Surely not, with my right forearm and shoulder in those positions. BTW the ball flight also helps the argument.
  9. Its nice to be nice! As this is the "Liar, Liar" thread, no offense taken.
  10. Arguable. The clubhead is approaching the ball from an inside path. BTW did you notice my unusual reverse overlap grip in that image. Still working on it. My divots are getting a little deeper and occur after impact. Good signs! To add a little spice to this site. Some of the stuff is a little predictable and I really do like to simplify some of the more complicated stuff.
  11. I feel Probably, but the time between is getting too hard to bear. I used to fill it in quizzing Manzella on his hair brain stuff but he actually got on the phone to me and said he was going to send his Sicilian cousins to Austria to sort me out. Scary!
  12. Jamo A man of few words, but what he says pierces the heart. I still can't believe he's that low.
  13. I don't blow it Grandad, Erik has access to my IP address which identifies me.
  14. Doesn't this post belong in the "Liar, Liar" thread?
  15. I know I'm new to this board but I would like to start a thread based on the above Jim Carey film where he has to tell the truth, IOW he can't lie. I have only had contact with a few people but I am going to throw the cat among the pigeons and say it as I see it. Lihu A bit dense but pleasant enough. Mvmac Knowledgeable (I think), can be touchy and always agrees with a guy called Erik. MS256 Know it all with bullying tendencies (of course this is unfair but I want to ruffle a few feathers) but he can take criticism Golfingdad Don't you all just love him iacas He definitely has some superiority here and he knows it That's my stab at Liar, Liar. Who's brave enough to continue. BTW I'm a really nice guy but when you are far enough away from me and aren't an immediate threat, I can be a little 'trolly'.
  16. D'oh! Well meet the instructed. That's my point there's nothing simple about the numbers. I find them very confusing and I consider myself to be above average intelligence. Excuse me, but @The Wolf ( that's me) wrote, “By my reckoning, the golfer would have to aim +25° to +35°, swing path
  17. I've just done a quick sketch of the desired shot. Lets say the obstacle is a group of trees about 20 yds wide and too high to carry, the length of shot is about 150 yds and the ball is 60 yds behind the obstacle. By my reckoning, the golfer would have to aim +25° to +35°, swing path I don't envy the caddy who has to give a player this kind of data or the coach who is teaching this shot. I would rather use simpler language. I.e. Aim well right of the trees and close the face until you get the feel for how far you have to aim right and how much you can curve the ball back towards the target. I personally think Joe Golfer would catch onto this instruction more efficiently than the above. If that's the way Faldo et al managed it then I'm sure there's a good reason.
  18. Heptathletes are female, I'm a decathlete (a man).
  19. Yes, I get that. But according to what I am reading here, a push hook can be eliminated from the possible ball flights for creating a substantial hook (as can a pull slice). I mean, there's no point starting a ball 5-10° right/left of path if there's no way you can bring it back any more than a small percentage of that. So the shot I should be attempting in such a scenario is a pull hook when I require more curve. That's it, isn't it?
  20. No, I can't really accept that as my ball starts at least 10° to 20° right of the target. According to what I have le arned so far on this site, the ball starts mainly in the direction that the clubface is pointing which basically means I almost definitely swing on an in/out plane, And, according to the Faldo video I was sent by iacas, illustrating an iron shot where the path is extreme in/out with a minimally closed face. It appears to be (almost) impossible to find conditions where the ball could start to the right of the swing path when attempting to create a hook curve, I can accept that my knowledge of what is actually happening is lacking somewhat but don't tell me that I don't know the path I create through impact.
  21. OK, I understand what you are saying but I have always talked about face relative to path. Face relative to target confuses me a little but the way you have explained it has at least enlightened me to the terminology. I read the piece you suggested and I will have to re-read it a few times, especially the bit on AoA. I didn't know there were new ball flight laws but the diagrams I've seen on this site don't seem to be any different from what I have always followed. E.g. Hook for right hander, aim right of the obstacle with a closed face and the ball will curve from right to left and if the direction and the face conditions are correct, the obstacle will be avoided and the ball will curve towards the target. The main problem most people have with shaping shots is they tend to avoid the obstacle but don't achieve enough spin to bring the ball back to target
  22. This post caught my attention because its more or less what I am working on. But this explanation has left me a little confused. Now, with the best of intentions and not aiming to upset the apple cart here, can I discuss this a little further. OK, feet 0° means feet parallel/square to target and path +4° is the amount from in/out, i.e. right of target. That I get, but face +2° would suggest an open face which is supposed to produce a hook/draw. Now that I don't get. We are talking about a right handed golfer here.
  23. I know golfers who spend hours and hours practising putting and still look silly on the greens and I know others who think putting doesn't need to be practised and they have amazing putting stats. I'm one of the silly ones. I have overanalysied the putt and believe my head is full of too many details (break, grain, speed, technique, positive thoughts, negative thoughts, visualisation, Zanzo, holding my breath, etc) and I could use someone who could brainwash all these things out of my mind when I putt. I would definitely have a handicap of 2 if I could putt like my partner who just walks up to the ball takes his position and lets go. Oh if I could have that freedom! My advice: Just enjoy putting, its the easiest dynamic in the game and apart from the pros, it really isn't going to change your life if you miss. My partner always says, "Your friends, family and pets don't care how good or bad you putt." I should really take a bit of my own advice but there's just too much interference clanging around in my head. I'm really just a lost cause. On a happier note, The rest of my game is top notch and I love it. I'm with Hogan, or was it Snead, a putt should count as half a stroke.
  24. The penny has finally dropped, My shots never actually start right of my intended line of flight but do start right of the target and depending on face angles, they either curve back to target or over and under curve. I'm happy to stick with my in/out path but will be taking this advice on board and aiming less right and working on my face angles. Thank you.
  25. IMO out/in with a closed face.
