    Line on Ball

Dave Pelz offers a product that might be of interest to some people: http://www.pelzgolf.com/ProShop/OBALL/Default.aspx Dave argues that the line(s) not only aids in aiming, but also provides valuable feedback about your stroke. I have a few balls that I have drawn a line all the way around and I use them when I practice putting. I watch the line as the ball is rolling to see how "on line" it is. It also helps commit to an intended line. All of my aiming is done when I place my ball on the surface. When I get over the ball, the only thing I have to think about is speed. If I don't like the direction, I move the ball and start over. I never change my mind about direction without reaiming the ball (if I don't, I can't evaluate my stroke).

  3. Since we're on the subject, I have a question. People usually talk about hybrids replacing long irons (i.e., ditch your 1-3 or 1-4 irons), but it has always been unclear to me why some people to use fairway woods and some use hybrids. For example, I am unclear why people might prefer a 19* hybrid to a 5-wood or vice versa. I know the advantages of hybrids over long irons, but am uncertain what the pros and cons for hybrids are when comparing them to fairway woods.
  4. There are plenty of photos, much info, and several holes described in detail here: http://www.golfclubatlas.com/bethpage1.html The info is a couple years old now, but it should be useful.
  5. Anyone see this? Nike One Blacks came in first. Nike Power Distance Softs came in second (say what?). ProV1s came in 4 and 5 just behind the HX Tour 56. They claim to be "slicing through the hype", but I am willing to guess that people will disagree with some of the results. Unfortunately, they don't see to provide the raw data (i.e., distance in yards, spin in rpm, accuracy in yards) for each ball. They only give Excellent/Very Good/Good/etc. Check it out here: http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/t...6/overview.htm
  6. Just to add to what was previously said, Golfworks also has an extremely knowledgable staff. Jim, in particular, can answer any questions you have about products, repairs, fitting, etc.
  7. Yeah. I knew things were going well, but I refused to tally my score until I was in the car because I wanted to concetrate on my game, not my score. I surprised myself when I finally added it up.
  8. Shot a 91 (44/47) to break 100 for the first time this past Saturday. It was a relatively short course, but I was happy. No 3-putts. No birdies. Only 12 putts on the front. Now we'll see if I can do this every weekend.
