  1. I like Tiger, but Jack had the best pants.
  2. I am going to have a couple of clubs built to my standard (2" over and 2 deg up lie, stiff steel shafts, jumbo grips) from different sets so that I can play them for a while and see which I like best. This is because it is impossible to get "2 over 2 up" demo clubs in Singapore. It's difficult even in the USA. So I usually get one club made and play with it for a month before I get a whole set made up. In the past I used a 6 iron, but maybe this is the wrong approach. The 6 iron is not a "scoring iron" and since the 3 or 4 irons are harder to hit cleanly (for me and many others), maybe I should be looking at using 8 irons or 4 irons as my demo club. Any opinions? Remember: just one club in a set is the parameter here. Thanks.
  3. You can take this to the bank: neither of my alma maters will be in a bowl that wasn't made by American Standard. Tulane and University of New Mexico. Bummer.
  4. I am 6'5" and use +2.0" irons and +2.0 degree up lie. I use TT Dynamic Gold SL shafts. This helps you keep the swing weight in check. For the driver I use a 46" shaft and it is perfectly fine for me. This is now the standard length on many drivers, which I find interesting, because I would think it would feel too long for most guys. I wish it were possible (i.e. cheaply possible) to adjust lies on drivers. I think this is why I prefer square head drivers because the view of the square front helps me keep the club head horizontally even at ball strike, or at least close. I like 36.5" or even 37" for putters. 36" is OK if my back is not acting up.
  5. How did these irons turn out? Are you happy with the length/lie?
  6. 1. Putters have changed the most IMHO 2. Driver heads are huge, an some are square 3. Graphite is much more popular (and cheaper) than it used to be 4. Lots more choices in shoes, clothes, bags, etc. 5. More options for club fitting, but still not enough You all are lucky that you even have cart girls. We have cart old dudes.
  7. I thought it was one from Bang, Or Geek Golf, or Infiniti. I think Alpha and Nakashima have claims to it, too.
  8. What about a putter/chipper combo like the Odyssey Marxman? These can be pretty useful depending on the greens where you play the most.
  9. They are quite popular in Japan, but I don't think they are #1. The mother company owns Cleveland now, right? I went to the Cleveland HQ for a fitting a couple of months ago and they gave me a bunch of Srixon balls that I haven't tried yet. I think Srixon balls might be Cleveland branded in the US market.
  10. I tried the 675's and liked them, but I have never own any. Some of my friends swear by the components and the company.
  11. I own a consulting company that helps small technology companies come to Asia and do business.
