  1. Humor! I like it-look at my face-I have to!
  2. IACAS, let me try to answer some of your questions by pointing out Dr, Suttie's "No Back Swing Swing" in which no distance is lost and accuracy is maintained as mentioned in the Golf.com link above. When you say "removed levers" I'll say that the horizontal thumbs from an unbent pair of wrists actually lengthen the lever and widen the golf-swing arc. In addition, the energy normally used in the arm drop into the slot, is conserved and the timing for the strike enhanced as the right side of an MGSS swing stays "in tilt" throughout the swing. POWER IS INCREASED INTO THE BALL AND OVERALL! and the "Angle of Approach" of the club- face guarantees ball compression. You said something about not using the left side (still working on the multi-quote function) right? But as soon as I tilt to my right side, my left leg is entirely activated and feels powerful. As I keep/raise my left arm CLOSE to my chest (ala Hogan), after the pre-turn of about 45 degrees, I have all day to "flip the switch" and set my left heel down (ala Hogan's lower leading the upper) to wallop the ball into compression with the tilted right side (ala Hogan's side-arm throw). The perfect "Angle of Approach" (TGM term) of the club-face will compress the ball at almost any speed on a mild weather day. Do you deny these commonalities still? I'm sorry but as a Golf-Machine guy, I just assume you could see all that I see with the Hogan similarities. I also had hoped you would have the same generous spirit that all my TGM instructors share-every swing is good if it helps a student enjoy the game since TGM describes hundreds of valid swings! in TGM, Kinwar's MGSS is along the lines of "Impact Fix" as far as I can tell but I can be corrected on anything. You keep saying Kiran has not replied to you but why should she? She has published all her information without charge and many people, including Dr. Jim Suttie, a "top 20" golf instructor, has validated her work in person and on video submitted above. She frankly has more credentials regarding swing mechanics than MANY but you still don't feel you should give her system a try? The burden of proof might be on you to look past appearances when a lifelong "top 20" golf instructor validates her work. Now you may not share any of her conclusions. You may never have read "The Golf Machine." You may not be able to understand Dr. Jim Suttie's "No Back Swing Swing" or the reasons it works from the Golf.com article. But to say I haven't offered a discussion is simply wrong and un-true! I agree Kiran does not look like Adam Scott but helicopters don't look like planes but work nonetheless! Common sense and basic physics are outlined in her "Minimalistgolfblog" including anatomical planes of movement and body power meridians. All free-all easily understood by a non-scientist like me. Here is a link to her blog: http://minimalistgolfswingblog.com/anatomy-of-the-golf-swing/ I'd like this to be a friendly discussion-the videos, testimonials, and freely published research provided should aid the discussion. As I said before, intellectual curiosity should be encouraged here esp. when people are injured (do you need to see my right knee after surgery or herniated discs x-rays) and report success with a method. Tomorrow, I am attempting to drive my car  and if I can, I'm going to the driving range! WOOHOO Edit: I had to re-format this post. A moderated had deleted it as "MF" which stands for "malformed." I will not take the time to edit it in the future. Please don't put your text inside the quote block.
  3. My interest in carrying and gun selection came after last year when an apparent rabid fox made a beeline for us. I am not very fast and found myself with my hybrid in my hand and towel rapped around my left forearm! We shouted and swung and drove it off. Later it was put down! We also have had bear reports and wild dog (odd Pit-bull/Rottweiler) (we are near a major city)reports in the area so I now have a pistol that fires .410 solid shot or triple-aught buck, Colt .45, and .45 ACP-on the course I vary the sabot rounds with .45 colt-the sabot cannot really fly just tumble but the Colt ammo is stout. I never want to meet a bear or get rabies and the fox helped me focus on the fact that I am no longer 19!
  4. I'm sorry Gunther-"off the hook?"
  5. I did not pick the hottest video I could find but one I thought was fairly restrained, VG! Rory showed a lot of "inspiration" today at "The Scottish Open!"
  6. Very good humor displayed here and she is "gowgeous" to quote Sandra Bullock!
  7. Gary Edwin's "Right Sided-Swing" and Kiran Kanwar's Minimalist Golf Swing System both promote a shallow club path on all shots by keeping the right side in tilt prior to and throughout the downswing. Pro's using Gary Edwin's Right-Sided Swing actually have to flatten their equipment to get the true benefit of the sweep. My Ping G-25's are standard and my Titleist D-3 driver is a slight right bias draw 11 degrees and I hit the ball without divots with a slight draw (10 yards or less as clubs get shorter). Details can be had from: http://www.garyedwin.com or on YouTube in any of Kiran's 70 videos. Good luck!
  8. I don't know how to use the milt-quote-sorry! Will investigate!
  9. Thanks for the humor Boogie! I love this movie! I like the fact that the Minimalist Golf Swing System by Kinwar will some day make me a scratch or better player! It our public course we have a daily "pensioner's" game with a friendly $20 cap. Prior to my knee replacement on the 29th of June, I "capped" my opponents 3 days in a row using this swing, [:-P] My HCP with my knee damage had slipped to 21.6 and everyone I beat had a much better HCP!
  10. As far as i can tell, this thread was started to abuse the Minimalist Golf Swing System without any respect for the research and thought that went into develop it! Imagine the surprise of the "all-knowing" instructors when very accomplished golf-pros/teachers actually positively embrace Kiran's MGSS having tried it regardless of their stats and observations about "obvious" flaws and limitations. I am surprised the administrators of this site allow such abuse of a system without at least giving it a fair trial!
  11. Thanks acermusdux! Here is the video! There was an error with the posting of the actual video! Maybe others on this post can take advice more easily from a white male Doctor of biomechanics than a female Indian Chiropractor? By the way, Dr . Suttie actually reviewed Kinwar's Minimalist Golf Swing favorably prior to his development of his "baseball" type swing. You can see that here: http://www.golf.com/video/no-backswing-swing
  12. It amazes me what can be achieved with an open mind, a sense of adventure and creativity, and a healthy disrespect for orthodoxy! I was watching a baseball game the other night and Phillies's star (former star) was getting a lesson from Marlon Byrd about keeping his hands low vs. high in his batting stance. The advice was to remove a lot of the timing of his swing and keep his hands in the hitting zone longer. Kiran's Minimalist system pre-sets her hands/right side low, wrists unbent creating a very long lever with no need for timing. Using this system, I gained 20 yards on my drives and a feeling of confidence like no other so that I knew I could place the ball anywhere I aimed with distance by varying the degree of shoulder turn in the pre-set. DON'T BELIEVE ANYTHING I SAY! Simply try it for fun!
  13. We could start a new thread-"Hottest pros with the hottest wives/girls," There could be a "traditional family values" ranking and an "off the chain" ranking! We could use some point system combining some combination of statistics from the tour and "hot girl stats."
  14. I think she is consenting to be with Rory in every single way! I have 2 daughters and a mom and I am fine with fully consenting adults fully consenting!
  15. "Satisfactory Answers?" So first a person must understand all things about all things before trying something? When you first picked up a golf club, how much did you understand? Let's be rational. We love the game and all search for more complete methods to improve our performance. At the First Tee, I see hundreds of kids each summer who want to escape some very bad home situations through golf. The joy of hitting a golf ball effectively stays with them for weeks and maybe longer. We all have tried lots of techniques we didn't fully understand or gadgets we did not design to improve our golf and we will in the future. To me it smacks of silliness to demand someone explain something fully before validating it, especially in sport with all the various muscles involved. (Trackman did not create Hogan or Norman or Tiger) Kiran's pre-sets remove the timing element from the traditional swing and allow for much better contact more often. Hogan-like positions from "Five Lessons" are easily seen in her set-up, back-swing and downswing. Now there are levels to sport performance. I'm sure data and Trackman are perfectly appropriate for semi-pro and pro players but to insist that that is the only way to evaluate a golfing technique is silly. I have taught this method to other students and benefitted from it personally. And yes, i believe people, you, and Tiger should try Kiran's Minimalist Golf Swing System!
  16. As soon as the surgeon gives me the ok to swing in earnest, I'll post a video or two-the surgery was June 27th. I don't understand the harm in inviting people to spend an hour at the range in her pre-sets and giving it a try-it has helped me greatly so I am enthusiastic about it. I saw the disparaging remarks in the thread so I thought I'd share my success with Kiran's system.
  17. I think Kiran points out that "reverse weight shift" happens quite often- I have not gotten enough detail as to why she says that happens-I know that when I set-up in her pre-turn and tilt it is very easy to direct my weight through the ball effectively. Since I have enjoyed so much success using her system given my physical problems, I believe anyone would enjoy trying her system. I find the animosity toward her by other golf professionals silly. As a classroom teacher and First Tee volunteer I am always interested in a new way to deliver information to students. If it is effective, great, if not, we try something else and move on.
  18. The shoulder turn is part of the set-up so she did turn her shoulders-and anyone, Phil, who gives this pre-set swing a try will see the benefits. I'm amazed at how much animosity is directed at this new idea. Just out of curiosity, how man people recovering from 3 herniated discs, torn shoulder muscles and a shredded right knee can shoot in the low 80's on multiple days? How many people could Increase their driving distance by greater than 10% in that physical condition and shave 10 strokes or so from their usual score with those injuries having adopted this Minimal Golf Swing System? Either I'm Superman, lying, or really onto something you cannot comprehend. Simple intellectual honesty might admit to curiosity-not repeated protests by guy who obviously cannot see the similarities in MGSS and Hogan's Five Lessons.
  19. Fear of the unknown limits many profitable investigations! Let's not hate-investigate!
  20. Hey Phil, for all the "capability" of the traditional golf swing you have the actuality of massive frustration and people quitting golf by the thousands. Her swing is not a "half-swing" or "arm swing" since all swing factors are accounted for by her "pre-swing" routine. More weight behind the ball at impact, shallow inside sweep of the ball which actually promotes a higher ball flight, true loft and greater distances. I have no doubts as to your golfing abilities but I am challenging your concept of "good information," with this public information. Part of the definition of "cult" requires a hidden aspect and this is not hidden in any sense. I think the "traditional" golf swing is simple BS that is actually a bigger obstacle for golfers than a help. What I like about this method is the minimal wear and tear on my frame and the consistent ability it gives me to compress the ball. The compression is giving me a consistent 250 yards + up from 230 yards. Slower club head speed may stop me from hitting a 280/290 yard drive that's true, but lots of people can play very competitive golf from the middle of a fairway 250 yards from the tee. Maybe her presentation is deceptively simple? Cheers and thanks for the response.
  21. Understanding bio-mechanics is not essential for for golf instructors-got it-look at all the BS golf systems out there! But in Kiran's case, she is an LPGA teaching pro and her credentials are extensive! Check out the list in the first couple of seconds or more of the video. I'll bet she has worked with more students than anyone on this site! Please remember that Leonardo DaVinci was not an engineer and the Wright Bros were bike repairers. Also, my challenge to Phil was to try to invalidate her observations which he will not attempt with any success because he'd have to try to repudiate Ben Hogan's "Five Lessons" or and Moe Norman. Anyway, my real point in all this is that golf is amazing and can be much more popular and more simply taught!
  22. Hi Guys-please look at my thread on Kiran Kanwar's Minimalist Golf Swing-I believe that swing system can help!
  23. Both Ben Hogan and Moe Norman were very aware of their own physical limitations- their biomechanics. Hogan was forced by a brutal car accident to learn what could ad could not physically do. Moe Norman, who displayed elements of Asperger's Syndrome, may have come to it as a result of childhood car accident in which he was dragged under the car for some distance. Perhaps this bodes well for Tiger as he faces his physical injuries! My premise in this thread is that a person who considers bio-mechanics is a lot closer to "owning their golf swing," or making their swing a swing for life. As a result of early high school football injuries back in the early 70's, I have had 11 hip surgeries and now a right total knee replacement. I am 56 and very active as a teacher in an inner-city school district. I volunteer with the First Tee, am a "highly qualified" high-school golf coach for the district, and my HCP index prior to my knee going bone-on bone, and three herniated disks/torn right shoulder muscles last September was 9.6. I had been trying to figure out Gary Edwin's "Right Sided Swing" for the last couple of years and had reached a certain level of success, but after my recent injuries last year, I was unable to have any feeling in my right hand for three months-I honestly thought golf was over for me. I was fortunate to get some great physical therapy and an excellent Chiropractor! That led me to search golf swings and bio-mechanics and I discovered the lady below Using her swing led me to my first hole in one last April! And when I finally had a window to play as I awaited surgery, I shot 3 rounds in the mid and low 80's carding a 41 and 38 along the way before my knee replacement. Quite a come-back given my physical obstacles! My hope is that others will try this swing in one form or another and that we can enjoy Ms. Kiran Kanwar's insights.
  24. Well, as my knee had deteriorated before being replaced I sank to a 21.6. With my knee in shreds, I shot 3 rounds in the low 80's prior to surgery. I expect to get lower as I rehab the knee. She is teaching a traditional swing in a NON-TRADITIONAL SEQUENCE THAT IS EASIER ON THE HUMAN BODY! It is obvious that you don't want to try to refute her observations about the swing, positions, sequence, etc and shooting at my HCP level reveals a lot about the confidence you have in your own methods. Likewise, my point about growing the game was a softball I offered you to be generous and kind in this discussion, and you passed on that, too. I hope you prosper in every way and learn that kindness and intellectual discussions reveal strength and passion that help lots of things including golf.
  25. If I missed it I'm sorry but what about a Chiropractor's understanding the bio-mechanics of a golf swing do you find odd or contradictory to anything you teach Phil? Think about Hogan's "Five Lessons!" He shows a right side in tilt at impact, a side-arm stone skipping throw ( or underhand clap), lower body leading the swing (right sided tilt), elbows closer together and left arm stuck to the chest on the backswing. Kiran's genius is that she explains the why of Hogan and the Howe of making his positions easier to hit consistently. :-\
