The B330RX has low side spin too? I may give it a go. Although, honestly I played with e6 today and it stopped fine on full shots into the green. On greenside chips maybe a little extra rollout, but nothing I couldn't plan for. Then again, I'm not typically playing on super slick greens either. I play $35-$50 greens fee type courses, so they're well kept, not hairy, but not slick either. Maybe if I played slicker greens I'd notice more roll out.

Thanks Stealthhwk, I bought about 2 dozen used but good shape, about a dozen of each. Spin around the green I the e6 wasn't much but it was good enough, as long as I planned for it. Didn't feel great of the club face though. Spin on full approach shots was no problem. Going to play a round with the e5 and see how it goes!

I just saw the video. I've been checking reviews on several of these products, and I'm very interested on these, although I would never pay $500 for a set. $99 for one for range use, yeah ok. I do wonder how it gives you face angle without having to align it. -
@dkolo I was actually referring to the e6 with that statement. I will check out your review!

Recycled balls, best place to buy
mjs16 replied to mjs16's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Thanks everyone! Been a while since I have logged on, thanks for the feedback! -
Thanks all, I'm not necessarily looking for tour quality bite on the greens, but I don't want a rock either (Pinnacle, etc). If it's straight, and *somewhat* soft on the greens, then great. I may just need to take one of each to the putting/chipping green and try then

Last (Golf) Thing You Bought?
mjs16 replied to JYB's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Picked up some used Callaway RazrX irons (I'm cheap,I refuse to pay $750-$1000 for a new set). My first round with them was unreal, I hit them so straight! -
Anyone played the e5 and e6? I know the e6 is supposed to have lower side spin to reduce hooks and slices, but also does not have as much spin around the greens compared to the e5. If you've played the e6, how did you find the spin on the green? Was it ok but just not quite as good as others, or was it basically like playing a rock?

First off I am "thrifty", always looking to save a buck. I've never been a buyer of recycled or used balls, because of lack of quality (real or perceived), but seeing as how expensive new balls are getting, I'm rethinking that position. What are your experiences with recycled balls, if you get the highest graded ones? Performance close to new? If so, where's the best place to get them still in good shape? I know Wal-Mart has them but they're all different brands, I'm looking for Bridgestones specifically. Thoughts?

The reason it was important to me to get the semantics right was to fully grasp what you're trying to teach me and why. I'll watch your video again, work on things and repost, cool?
-
Ok, I think I know where the confusion is. (Deep breath) here we go: I'm saying "straight" because it's starting where I intended it to, you're saying "left" because it's left of my setup. So in reality, when I do get it to draw (50-50) I'm actually hitting a pull-hook.
-
The pole isn't the target. The target was a sign that was hidden by my torso. I'm not saying I'm not swinging left. What I am saying is the shot in the video started at the sign and drew.
-
Yes I just wanted to make sure he/you werw basing your thoughts on the right information. Maybe I'll take a new video based on your link and I'll indicate where my target is, just so we're all on the same page from the start :) Are there any positives you can give me that I'm doing that I should keep doing?
-
I think maybe that's why the camera angle was off, because those shots were starting dead straight (I remember I was there :-) ) I set up the camera right behind me instead of behind the ball along the target line. Regardless I will watch the video and work on those things :-)
-
Oops, just posted in the wrong forum :-)
-
Here I'll post the full 4 swings (one video) I took with my 5 iron. The first one started out good but faded instead of drew. (You can see the ball flight) The 2nd one was HORRIBLY bad (WAY right) The 3rd and 4th were as beautiful as they come. Right at what I was trying to aim at with a slight draw. Today for example several shots worked out great! Others would start on but then fade from there. When that happens it's usually high and short
-
For example, if I want to draw it into a flag in the middle of the green, I'll try to aim the club face and torso a few degrees right of the flag, then my feet a few degrees right of that to try to create the desired path. Sometimes it works great :-) Other times not :-(
-
Ok, I see what you're saying. My thinking has been to aim the clubs and and shoulders along the line I want the ball to start on, and turn my feet the way I want my swing path to go. My thinking was that pulling my right foot back slightly would help encourage an in to out downswing path Although if that's not a good way too do that, or if it's not accomplishing the task then by all means I'll try something else. Thanks! Is there anything I'm doing right that I should make sure to keep doing?
-
I know you probably think I'm just being difficult (sorry I just want to understand!) but here is why I have a hard time seeing my shoulders as open. In the pics you can actually see my left shoulder in line with the right. Lower left in the pic is where I highlighted the target, or the line. Sorry, I just want to understand my swing! Not trying to be difficult I promise! Either way whether I was open or not in the pic/video I will be sure to check myself next time. Thanks!!
-
Maybe it's the camera angle b/c knowing where the target was it looks right but ok either way I'll work on check my shoulders when I line up. How do I create depth with the arms in the backswing? Is that I the video? Thanks!
-
Also, in the driver video in my setup of you pause it it looks like I have a thin white line hanging down from my (chunky) belly. That was a leg on the sign in the distance I was using as my target line.
-
What do you think is the target line? I'm not asking to be combative I just want to make were on the same page. In the 5 iron video the ball took off dead straight at the intended target which I used the same target line for the driver. If you still think they're open then ok.
-
If you're comparing my shoulders to my feet they will look open because I always set my feet to the right to influence a draw.
-
I tried that on my phone but it wouldn't work
