  1. I have read some threads where golfers talk about having their clubs soft step. Can anyone tell me the reason why or benefits behinds this?
  2. Ok, yeah sounds like I don't the way you described it, thanks!
  3. That'd exactly my problem, I don't have a feel for how far the shot will go and roll. I usually use my 56 or 60 for the pitch shot. Do you have any recommendations on what would be a good all around club for pitching? I appreciate the info..
  4. I shoot in the mid to low 80's every round and I'm a 12 handicap. I struggle constantly with pitching and chipping for example first hole today was a par 5 and I was 20-25 yards from the pin for my 3rd shot. I try to pitch it up and of course I chunk it twice in a row. Then I try to chip it and skull it. When I take my practice swing it seems perfect but when I setup to hit the ball the yipes pop up. I practice chipping and pitching but on the course I struggle with it. I think it might be more mental than it is anything else. I think I may lift at times or I incorporate to much lower body into the shot. Anyone have this issue and remedies or thoughts that have helped them?
  5. It seems to just fall after it hits it's peak, the problem is I don't know what a ballooning shot would look like. I haven't noticed any lost of distance from my previous irons only that the new ones I hit much higher.
  6. I don't get to go to the range as much as I used to but I still work on the fundamentals at home (setup, posture, alignment, swing). You can practice these things without going to the range and knocking around balls and it's the foundation. I feel that this works great because I'm not worried about anything else. Now when it comes to short game you need the range because these are feel shots.
  7. Today I shot an 86, 45 front and 41 in the back. My putting was horrendous as I played a faster greens yesterday and was leaving everything way short today. Driver and iron game was ok but the short game was disaster pitching and chipping. The weather was perfect and the beer tasted great as always so can't be to upset.
  8. I recently purchased a set of MP 64's with Project X 5.5 shafts. I've played MP 62's with Project X 6.0's and JPX 825 pro's with X100 Dynalite XP shafts in the past. Didn't notice much of a height difference with the dynalite shafts which were supposed to be a higher ball flight. I have noticed that with the Project X 5.5's I'm hitting the ball a lot higher than I did with the 6.0's and X100 which I had more of a penetrating to low ball flight. The reason why I went to the 5.5's is because I felt that I was unable to make a smooth swing or 3/4 swing with with the stiffer shafts without them felling stiff.I haven't noticed any real loss of distance but I find that my ball sticks a lot better on the green then with the previous shafts which I'd usually get roll and had problems sticking on the green at times. I usually find my ball approximately two feet or less from my divots on the green, not getting much roll. My concern is wether the ball is ballooning or not?
