  1. Same here! My first "scored" round was a 66 on 9 holes. But I was smiling when I was done. I had a good time. The weather was nice, good friends with me. My second round was a 64. I felt like I played much better. Had a good time. Trying to get out to my third run around here as soon as I can.
  2. I remember seeing Jack's grip when I was a kid. I thought it was awkward looking, but figured that's the way it was supposed to be. So when I took my first lesson, just a few months ago, the pro showed me the baseball, interlock and the Varden. To me, actually, the interlock was the least awkward feeling of the bunch. It may have been a mental thing, though.

    Blades

I see. Is there any advantage, or difference between the two?

    Blades

Hey all! So far I've seen a couple of posts where someone says they are moving up to blades, or just blades in general. Is this a style of irons? Or what? Thanks.
  5. I am close. I went to the range during my lunch break and hit a small bucket. I was working on a couple of things that I had read here, thinking about a towel under my right arm pit, and trying to watch the club head hit the ball. About to the last dozen balls, I started getting more consistent distance than before. Still pushing a little, but not too bad. It was enough that I had to come back after work and get a large bucket. I noticed that when I actively kept my right elbow down, left arm straight and watched the ball, it would feel like I'm hitting the ball crappy at the moment of impact. Do you know what I mean? One of those instant "That was crud" thoughts. But, those were actually my best shots. Would that be a case of learning to trust my equipment?

    "A" Iron

A buddy of mine has a set of irons, and one of them has a letter "A" stamped into it. Just what is it for? Thanks
  8. There should be some markers on the course that will give you an idea of your distances. It isn't just strictly guessing on the course.
  9. So, you had your arms in a straight line with the club shaft?
  10. Umm, 65 on the back Nine at my local course.
  11. I push occasionally. I thought I was pushing all the time until I found out I had fallen for the 'alignment illusion'. What I thought was a 20* push was me hitting it straight at what I was technically aligned to.
  12. Design Engineer for a fabrication company.
