1. So I snipped a half inch off the SL290 and put a longer VDR grip on so I can choke down further and it has made a difference in control. They said it was ok to trim a half inch off the butt, add a little grip tape and go from there. Seems to work better and havent hit any sprayers yet.
2. No you don't or you would practice what you preach. Don't shoot someone's opinion down and turn around and try to play the victim. Man up and own your mistake.
3. Everything you just explained pretty much validates my answer.....TO STAY IN THE FAIRWAY. LOL
4. TEE makes good gear. The difference from the 11's to the 100's are like night and day. I got mine with the high end Aldila RIP phenoms in stiff and I almost debated on putting some programs or recoils in these but the Phenoms are just that good.
5. First, learn how to read, second it will ruin the balance and flex of the Miyazaki C Kua shaft which was specifically designed for this club head. Cleveland will tell you not to do it from butt or tip. SMH lol
6. The last time I had my index checked I was around a 12 back in 98' but the 25 I put was just a number. Just getting back into the game after a 2 year haietus.
7. I tried the biocell and didn't like it. I suppose if I put a blueboard in it that might change my mind but I actually recently just went back to the SL290 as I had one back in 11' I loved. I hate it when you sell something that works fine the first time. lol. Cool there was a brand new one with headcover on the bay for like 60 bones.
8. Love em. I just did a side by side with the xr pros and the C100's blew the Callys away from feel, to distance, altitude and descent, ball speed and dispersion. No contest these are bar none the best irons I've ever hit and I had some jpx 800s and i25s before these. The only thing I didn't like are the thick soles but I've had no issues with fat shots. These are buttery.
9. Sometimes I bag 15 or 16 when I'm just goofing around or not in competition just to experiment. 3 clubs in my bag I don't use much are 5 hybrid, 4 iron and lob wedge. If it came down to it I would ditch the 5 hybrid and lob wedge because I like the long irons in my set, especially the 5 and 6. For whatever reason I don't ever get the correct yardage to justify using the 4 although I do hit it well.
10. Drivers are getti g longer and longer. I think the average driver nowadays is about 46" which is crazy. Mine is 45.75" an older Cleveland launcher sl290 with a sweet Miyazaki shaft. I don't want to snip an inch off the shaft because it will ruin the flex and balance of the club. I hit it just fine and sometimes really get a hold of it and get it out there 300 yards. My 3 wood is the oldest club in the bag and cheapest. An old walmart maxfli but I'm dead center every time. It's 43" and the perfect kick for my swing. Why upgrade when I'm in the fairway every time..
11. 3 wood is more forgiving. Why do you think pros use it on many narrow par 4s?? To hit the fairways. Shorter shaft, less kick, you can hit down on it like all your other clubs and it normally stays on line.
12. They won't be unseating my C100s anytime soon. Too much offset but they would make a great set for a beginner or high capper. They do look sweet with the red and the plastic topline though. I might keep em for a backup set or just sell em on the bay.
13. So my brother bought an old abandoned storage unit at auction and he found a box of Cobra S9 irons in graphite reg flex still in the plastic and in the original box. These have never been gamed. Has anyone had any experience with these irons?? They were released in 08' I believe.
14.

I've spent the last week working hard on pitching and chipping and one particular shot is giving me conniptions -- what should, theoretically, be an easy pitch from the fairway. Thing is, they get a lot of rain in the winter here, so the cut is very short and the turf beneath is very soft. I'm using a 56* wedge with 13* of bounce, but still find myself frequently sliding right under the ball and dumping it right in front of my feet. By contrast, I have no problems pitching from the short rough, which is kikuyu and holds the ball up rather nicely. Right now I'm chipping where possible to avoid the complete flub, but wondered if there's a higher percentage shot when you have to get the ball up higher around the green in these conditions?
I feel your pain....Are the fairways where you play at Bermuda grass or Fescue? Appreciate the solid. Joe Sterriker
15. As long as it's a controlled tempo and the mechanics and swing plane are on tap along with rotation and release then swing from your aszes. I do and I pipe 320 yard drives all the time. My takeaway and transition through hip thrust naturally brings my hands down thus rocking deep drives every time.
16. Thankfully I haven't had those issues with mine. In fact my A12OS 3 and 4 hybrids are soo fun to hit and, for my swing, the easiest hybrids I've ever hit. I mean the ball just jumps off the face of these sweet hybrids. Yeah it could be a shaft issue. I have the pro launch blues in R flex and really they feel almost exactly the same as stiff.
17. No there's not much of a difference at all between the 2. Both sets are light, have humongous heads and top lines and a boat load of offset. Both are SGI irons. If I were you I'd go with the C100's instead. Much higher quality, they look better with less offset and that black pvd plating just pops. Aside from that is performace. The C's out perform the D line across the board in every category except for maybe 3 or 4 yards of distance. But for easy to hit playibility with better feel you need the C100 irons my man.
18. No.....13 is what it is if you did it right regardless of course. Factor in 5 rounds, slope rating etc....and configure it that way. That's great progress for a year though. It takes some of us decades just to break 90.
19. Cleveland SL 290 12* Miyazaiki C Kua Stiff Maxfli 15* Blue Max 3 wood Adams A12OS 3 and 4 hybrids WS C100 irons 4-GW RIP phenom stiff TMag 54* and 58* KBS wedge flex Yes Callie 12 C groove 35" Winn jumbo lite grip SM C130 cart bag
20. Well yesterday I bought a new set of Wilson Staff C-100 irons 4-GW with Aldila RIP Phenom shafts. I scored them for $300.00 from my neighbor who is going through a divorce. He was desperate and they were soo easy to hit I couldn't pass it up.
21. No prob Spicoli. Put the hippie lettuce down and give good swing advice. I'm just getting into th egame and I stink I admit that much but it feels soo good when I crunch one right down the pipe.
22. Oh I'm using a 4 i
Not at all, hope you enjoy your new irons.
Thank you MVMAC. They feel like butter soo far. The ball just seems to explode off of the face upon impact with a nice high and straight ball flight.
23. Well I apologize then I thought you guys were making fun of me because I stink and am new. :-(
24. Oh I'm using a 4 iron pot head. What makes you think I wouldn't?? I can stripe a 4 iron 210 yards Spicoli.
