  1. my playing partner and I ussually need to make 4 with unknown's. we end up playing the middle T's to keep pace. We try to rotate threw all of them though. I find I play better from the back T's but forward T's can be a great risk reward challenge.
  2. how long where they married?
  3. I won my flight in one tourney, second in another, and finally made it to a single digit handicap.
  4. I played in my club championship this weekend and a player in my group on Sunday threw a wedge after 2 failed attempts to get our of a bunker. He threw it overhand like he was chopping wood. What he didn't realize was it was heading directly at our playing companion. 30+ feet traveled and I don't think it dropped an inch. I could hear it cutting the air before it left his hands. If it had struck the other player, I doubt it would have been shy of catastrophic. He was very humble after the incodent, I was not amused...
  5. 76 today. not my best, but a noteable round for me. 3 bogey's per side, one bird. (par 71) No big numbers and getting closer to my goal of vanilla golf.
  6. 1. aim shot and pick a spot after my ball (spot aiming) 2. take one swing at about 10% slow motion and focus on release and following my target line. 3. visualize the shot 4. one full speed swing 5. step into shot and "let it fly"
  7. I like what he is saying here, Putting is my best way to shave strokes. I try to make it even more simple... speed control. If you miss a foot left but have the right speed, you only have a one foot put left. I find when I "try to make a bird" I force it and end up rolling 5 feet by the hole. When I just put a good stroke on it, I don't even need to look up. I just know its rolling right up to the hole. It may sound silly, but I try to smile right before I "pull the trigger". Often I don't even realize the tension I have in my sholders until I smile and they drop.
  8. Staying in the moment is a great way for all of us to hit better shots. The hard part for me was finding a way to do it. I have been playing more tourneys this year with a 50% finishes in the $$. A friend of mine gave me the advice to "enjoy hitting this golf shot". It got me threw my first win this year and has helped me gain confidence over troublesome shots. Another thing I do, is make my playing partner keep score. I do my best to think only of the task at hand. (hit fairway, hit green, knock it close, tap it in). Sounds simple, but isn't it supposed to be?
  9. I was in the same boat until recently. I used to take a choked down driver on a short par 4 to avoid long irons and other woods. Now I have been striking the 3 wood very well just thinking about an 80% swing with a full release. I now have more confidence in my 3 wood than driver.
  10. with room to work with and a known yardage I am more consistent with drop and stop. I cary a laser range finder and use it most often around the greens. I have a very predictable 30, 40, 50 and 60 yard pitch. (given a decent lie)
