  1. Maybe this has been explained before but: What is the difference between the three (four?) different Vokey Wedge types. That is the Black Nickel, Oil Can, Spin Milled CC and Spin Milled Tour Chrome? Thanks.
  2. I really like the Fowler pick and he does have 2 Walker Cups (with good results) under his belt so he does have some understanding of the way these matches will be played. This kid is, IMHO, the real deal.
  3. I have been a baseball fan all my life (50 years) and I have never heard the term "AAAA player." You really do learn something new every day and usually from an unexpected source. Thanks
  4. Hi all, I just bought Bobby Jones Golf hybrid on a whim. Gets good reviews and I was not happy (anymore) with my Callaway X Hybrids. I bought the Classic 4h w/ regular flex. Hopefully it will swing a little easier than my steel shafted hybrids and the store also gave me a decent amount on trade-in for my old hybrids. Anyway, for anyone who carries or has used he BJG hybrids, what are your thoughts? Thanks Paul
  5. Is golf the only "professional" sport that uses amateur officials at its most important events?
  6. I do not know how many he will win BUT I do expect he will ditch the red shirt/black pants on Sunday's and go with some other color combo. Truth be told that red/black look is growing old. Tiger needs to switch it all up. New coach, new girl, new caddy, and a new look.
  7. In Hogan's day, caddy's were supposed to "Show Up, Keep Up and Shut Up." or so I have read. I think if any caddy ever offered Mr. Hogan any advise he would have found a golf shoe up his a$$ so far he would have tasted cleats. Nicklaus had the same caddy for years, Angelo Argea and I remember Johnny Miller's caddy (can't recall his name) being one of the first who was more of a partner on course than others. I think the days of the caddy being well known or even known at all is pretty recent. But the media attention brought to the sport by Tiger combined with the 24x7 sports and golf media has made some of these pro loopers as well known as some athletes.
  8. This "kind of thing" is talking about Tiger's business publicly.
  9. Based on his recent interview where he says his job is safe, it is now almost certain he and Tiger will part ways. Just MHO but this kind of thing is the kiss of death (especially with Tiger). I am not a "Stevie" fan or really even a Tiger fan but I do hope Tiger gets his act together, with or without William on the bag.
  10. If the World's Most Interesting Man (aka the Dos Equis guy)was playing that shot, the bunker would have called a penalty on itself.
  11. Here is the way I think the sponsor thing will play out - assuming no more devastating news. Sponsors with inventory - such as Nike, Tag, will stick with Tiger, at least until all excess inventory is sold out. Sponsors without inventory - such as Accenture, ATT, will drop him. Sponsors such as Gillette and Gatorade have products associated with him but it is not specifically TW branded like Nike and Tag, will sit on the fence for a while (this is already happening.) Of course, a company like Nike will stick by him forever. They have already proven they have no qualms about their athletes indiscretions.
  12. This is very cool and I guess, being a high handicapper, I never really thought of it so systematically. So for each wedge you will have 6 yardages and then if you experiment with a different position in your stance you may double that. Take that methodology up through the irons and, given your handicap is near scratch, you have your own yardage book for each of your clubs. Like I said, very cool. Paul
  13. Who will Tiger have to fire from his business entourage? Elin may demand some: IMG - possibly if Elin thinks they were enablers PR Firm - a given - I mean they pretty much suck don't they? Lawyer - No way, he may be a serial adulterer but he is not that stupid. Best Friend as head of his design company - Yeah, given that he took whatshername all the way to Austrlia for him. Stevie Williams - not likely but ceratainly a possibility if Elin has it in for him now. Others? You never know but this could get more interesting in a multitude of ways. Anway, this guy has lost all of the mysterious air about him. He is a good, no great, perhaps greatest golfer of all time - and nothing more. If you like or are a fan of his golfing then nothing in that respect should change. But if you bought into the whole Tiger Woods persona, I think things are very different now.
  14. Tiger is good at golf - and nothing else.
  15. I also think it is time he retired his putter. The head is all dinged up and he has tape on the bottom. It has served him well but he tweaks all his other clubs, why not the flatstick?
