Takeaway and backswing information

I am taki gm a rough guess as I am hitting the middle ball. Place one ball on the outside just a bit back and one on the inside. Nailing that middle one every time. -
Hey Guys, I have a question regarding the takeway and full back swing. I have been working hard on my swing sequence and have pretty much nailed them in slow motion. I have having a problem with actually starting the back swing. I have tried using my right arm to take the club back which turns my shoulders and hips nicely. I have tried to just turn my shoulders and lift my arms with wrist cocking. I have also tried using my left arm to push the club back which turns my shoulders and hips. I am hitting a inside to out path but still getting a fade and sometimes a hard slice. I have hit maybe one or too okay draws.

I recommend using tour tempo. I have that problem. Everything looks good in the different positions but now I need to put it all in a fluid motion. Tour tempo makes you forget everything and follow the beats. I noticed a huge difference with timing it all in. I practice for a hour and a half slow motion in all my positions and at the end spend 30 mins working on tempo.

Robert Rock Front Foot Flare
Millwrong12 replied to Millwrong12's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Yeah but robert lead foot is almost straight on some shots. Just curious what people think about this. -
Has anyone eles noticed rocks lead foot is pointing towards the target a lot vs other tour players. I was trying this tonight with my set up and it sure helped with getting my weight forward and club on path.

When do your hips start to turn.
Millwrong12 replied to Millwrong12's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Yeah I get what you are saying. I turn fine but now need to get my weight forward. I was thinking of using an alignment stick about a fist length away from my hip. -

So the hips are susposed to turn while your hips slide forward? Slide while turning? -
Question regarding hip turn. With weight sliding forward for impact. When should the hips actually start turning?

Not sure if it was mike who posted the drill I am talking about. Basically it's that but turned around so the point is facing the ball and with alignment sticks.
-
Hey Guys, Somewhere I saw a drill for key 4. It was to get you to swing inside to out. I believe someone put a alignment stick straight behind the ball and then made the peace sign with his fingers. The other alignment stick ran off the other finger like a V.

I've been practicing hard on A1 to A4 to get good tempo also. I am going to film outside if the range is open today to submit my instructor. I am going to rig up an alignment stick about a fist length away and practicing get my weight to touch it and my downswing.

I find when I practice in front of a mirror or a recorder that I rely on it. I get all messed up because I can't see what my body is doing. What I have done now is start off using a recorder or mirror for 35/40 hits or so to make sure your programming it into your muscle memory. After that hit bunch of shots without it and check towards end of you sesh. I find its a good balance between programming muscle memory and just doing. It sure has helped my game out a lot.

After a few more hard days of drills and work. I think my swing is actually coming together finally. The down the line view is okay but the phone is hanging off the garage door. I still can monitor what is happening with this view. The front view is tight as my landlords parents van is parked inside till they get back from mexico. I can still monitor what my hands are body is doing so its still a good way to assist me.

Yeah Calgary is a different story. It is south Alberta and just off of the mountains they get a lot of warm weather. Edmonton is northern alberta which is about -25/-40 all winter long and lots of snow. The 4 hour drive south makes a huge difference.
-
Not sure where your friends live but edmonton nothing is open or will be open till may. Snow is forecasted for all next week now too.

I really like my AP2 irons. They are pretty solid, feel and good great. I am a titleist fanboy! -
I finally broke down and built myself some fun. 9 Months of winter blues and the wife finally gave in! Full size net, with a custom cut plywood with turf to match the optishot. I put a 4 x 4 hitting mat on top and cut out the sensor holes. Screwed that puppy down and spent 4 hours practicing my swing today.

So I Tryed it today with a tee under the arm pit. My question is I can keep it under my arm pit but it feels the my elbow and 3/4 of my arm comes off my body but the tee stays in. This does get my arms in a greater and higher spot where I am just above the shoulder.
