I'd love to hit 200, nvm 300.

Will there be any more players irons coming from TM soon, instead of a lot of thick topline, cavity backed, GI clubs?

Played McCormick Woods recently. Awesome course, and really fun to play. Shot a 105 I think... or maybe a 108. Hard course.

Shot a 96 yesterday (49/47) for best round of the season so far. Only 3 putt was on the 13th, I send my par putt sliding way past the hole, and my annoying uphill breaking put just half a roll short :(. Still, I finally got my 10th round in for an official handicap, and this was only my 2nd round so far under 100 that I played without mulligans.

I recently bought a new putter (Cleveland Classic 3) which is a toe-hang putter, as opposed to my XG #7, which was face-balanced. I have recently been putting horribly (20+ putts per 9 holes) and wondering what the cause of it was. I did start using a different grip yesterday, which a produced a (9-hole) score of 18 putts. Still, I have two questions: 1. How do I determine whether I have a SBST stroke, or an arced stroke? 2. Say I do have a SBST stroke. How much will having a toe-hang putter, like the Classic 3, affect my putting?

It really depends on whose working the shop. For me, it goes like this: Weektime, one person will put me with another group and another will not, unless it;s crowded. Weekends, I usually get put with another group, though they try to put me with fellow juniors. :) Hope this helps.

14. About 5-1, maybe 5-2. Weigh around 95-100 pounds (really small for my age.)

Yah, all my clubs are short. Here are some average distances, just a rough guess: PW: 80 9: 85-90 8: 90-95 7: 95-100 6: 100-105 5: 110-115 4: 120-130 5 wd: 130-135 3 wd: dunno, never really hit this Driver: 150-155 Actually, i have the opposite problem of using no lower body: I use my lower body WAYYYYYY too much. I've tried cutting down on it, but it is insanely hard. It came from me, when I first started (2 yrs ago) really wanting more distance. My instructors never gave me a clue how to do this without screwing up my swing, so I eventually came to this: drive the hips and lower body through as hard as you can. That should get more ss, right? Wrong. Completely messed me up, now I'm struggling to tone down the hips and lower body. My right foot is often well off the ground by the time I get near impact. And my teacher still won't tell me anything about how to get more distance properly. :( :( :(

I honestly am beginning to doubt that it is... and it's pretty freaking depressing. I tend to average about 150-160 off the tee with my driver, and I think it just absolutely kills my game. I want to play in WJGA tournaments this summer, but to do so I need to be averaging under 90. Right now, I shoot in the low 100's (thought it's been dropping like crazy, last three rounds: 117, 111, 103), and I just can't seem to break 100. I am fairly consistent with my 5 wood, which is basically the only club I use from the fairway. My home course is really short (longest hole: Par 3, 200 yrds back tees. Par 4, 360 back tees. par 5, 450 back tees. I never hit any of them in regulation) and I am certain that the moment I start playing longer courses in tourneys, I'm screwed. Even at my home course, it really, for me, is just a matter of hoping that I stick my 3rd shot close enough for a one putt. My short game is good, but it can't carry my whole score. Anyways, my question is: Is it possible to play well without having any distance whatsoever off the tee, and all your clubs? if not, I'm completely screwed... I have no idea what's causing all the power to leak out of my swing.

About 25ish yards away, need this chip to get par on the last hole and shoot even fifty. Grab a 58, take a few practice swings, pick a spot for it to land and break in, then set up to the ball. Swing, catch it perfect.... lands great and rolls right towards the hole... and just past it. Ended up literally less than an inch away from the cup. GAH.....

I know how he feels. 5th hole today, dogleg right (actually almost the sameas yours) for me went like this: slice into someones yard, perfect 5 wood out... into a tree. finaly manage to get around the dogleg in 3, thin a hybrid to 50 yards from green. hit my pitch short. skid over green. end up on the green in 7, and 2 putt. holy crap was I pissed... didn't break anything though.

first good (for me) round in ages, after I decided to just quit clean with mulls. 53 1 3 putt 2 1 putts 17 putts total Driver was great, the ProLaunch Blue works amazing in it.

Persuade me one way or the other...please.

You could've gone with older clubs? I found: FT-I driver Average condition X 2008 fairway 3 and 5 wood average condition X-18 3-PW average condition X-Forged chrome 50* (bent to 51), 56*, and 60* in average condition for 824. and that wasn't even looking for lowest prices, or older clubs (oldest was the X-18's). Just pointing out, I bet you could find a full set of good clubs for under 800. Hope you like the clubs, you as AbsoluteZero said you can always buy better stuff if you don't like it. -

Hey everyone From the help here, and the advice I've gotten on GolfWRX and SwingAcademy, here is what I'm gonna do. 1. Spend a week or 2 working on the fundamentals: Weakening my grip (from 4 visible knuckles on the left hand, to 2), narrowing my stance, decreasing the shaft lean, and getting a slightly improved posture. 2. Then, work on the problem of my right elbow flying out at the top of my swing. Instead, focus on keeping it in tighter to my chest. 3. Finallly, work again on keeping my spine angle at impact, not standing up a whole lot. I spent some time today at the range working on the first part, the results astounded me. Lost some distance, but my consistency went ^ SO MUCH, it was amazing.

here are some videos: http://www.swingacademy.com/swingana...l.aspx?id=2252 http://www.swingacademy.com/swingana...l.aspx?id=2251 Target view and Front view. I have a really bad problem with dropping the club down at the top, which equals really flat swing plane. I am trying to get to the very root of the problem, and having a lot of trouble with it. Help?

Wow... TM come's out with something that is pretty simple looking, in my opinion, and without even hitting it, people call it ugly. They also call the adjustability BS right off the bat. Without ever seeing the frickin club in person. Can you at least hold the club, and hit it, before you make any conclusions? P.S. Am I the only one who thinks the iQ looks pretty good?

Try a Lux putter, they are really nice and run about 115 without any special grip or anything. www.ssbeachgolf.com

1. Implement a training regime, which is: Monday: short game work 1.5 hrs - work on 50 yards and in Tuesday: lesson or indoor simulator, minimum 1 hr work on approach shots, 51-150 yds Wednesday: Short game work 1.5 hrs focus on putting Thursday: if I took a lesson tuesday, indoor simulator for minimum 1 hr. If I didn't take a lesson, either lesson or simulator, work on driving and long shots Friday: Relax, hit into net Saturday: Driving Range, sand play, putting, then 9/18 holes Sunday: If I didnt play saturday, play today Also: Alternate every other day between Isometric training (Monday Wednesday Friday Sunday) and Bench Presses (Tuesday Thursday Saturday) 2. Get 80% of shots from 50-150 yards within 20 feet of pin - losing a lot of strokes here. everything not within 20 feet should still be on green or JUST off. 3. 80% of shots within 50 yards within 10 feet of pin. This should save LOTS of strokes. 4. Putting - from 20 ft, 2/5 in hole and the rest within 3 feet, from 10 feet 3/5 in hole, rest within 3 ft, from 5 feet everything in hole. 5. Tournaments - break 90 to qualify for WJGA tournaments in June. 6. Make the JV team as a freshman 7. Hdcp - Get down below a 15 hdcp 8. Distance - incrase all clubs by minimun 20 yds - 5 iron 170, driver 215ish, etc. wow that's a lot...

In the winter, because of temperatures and horrible course conditions, I rarely get out to play, but I practice a lot. In the summer, it's reversed - I'm out on the course at least 3-4 days a week, but I rarely hit the range.
-
I clean my wedges every round, especially my 58* which rusts easily. I also clean my other clubs every couple rounds when it's dry, or every round when it's muddy.

How can you fix a problem... Without a teacher?
Baraethon replied to Baraethon's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I think I might have worked it out... the key for me was thinking of an image I found in Hogan's 5 lessons. The one where an elastic band is atached to your left hip, and to strat the downswing it snaps back causing you to start the swing with your hips. I've always had a problem starting with my hands, and this really helped me I think. This is all based on feel and sound, hitting into a net. I am probably going to the range tomorrow. However, something doesn't feel right. I think the problem is that I am still not compressing the ball - I don't kno exactly what that feels like, but I still don't think I m doing it. So I will ask my teacher about that Tuesday. -

No... One of my main problems is a too FLAT swing plane, not to steep. Often when i come in with a problem, that is what my teacher says is the problem. -

Yeah, I've tried steepening my back swing, I've always had a major flat swing plane problem, it works about half the time but the other time I catch it fat. I'm just really confused, luckily my lesson is on tuesday. I'll probably just take a couple swings each day till then, just to keep in shape.
