I like how you mentioned being the first group off. That's by far the best way. I often go with my grandpa who is a early bird and we always get off first and it's worth getting up early.

I would think taking them as soon as possible would be best so you can start building good habits. Because if you are doing something wrong you would just be practicing wrong.

I just started playing golf awhile ago and I recently got the Nike Oss Slingshot Irons. They're really forgiving and not that expensive. I got mine for 215 on ebay.

I was playing with my two buddies and we were on a 135 par 3 that goes over a little pond to the green. Well above the green is a little hill and above the hill is the clubhouse and parking lot. My friend bombs his shot 180+ yards over the hill and onto the parking lot barely missing some cars. "Dude what did you hit?" "Just a 9 iron..." "Man that's a 6 iron you idiot!!"

During the summer here they had an unlimited golf pass for $100. This summer rocked being my last real summer and golfing literally everyday.
