  1. Thanks for the advice. Slow play is not a problem with me because I need time to think about what I am going to do next anyway. It's just the reaction I get around me. Yes my partner is my husband so I cannot really tell him to cool it. So I'm going to have to shut him out somehow. Amazing how pros can shut out the public watching them. I freak out just when someone behind us is watching. LOL. Guess I better get over that too. Thanks, Mermaid
  2. I totally agree with you. I go to a women's clinic on Saturday mornings when sometimes I am the only one there. I tried to tell them how creating either a league, competition, gathering place, sponsorship etc. would give them good PR with other women and maybe increase lesson sales, club fitting, equipment, etc. They have a driving range there also. It is a growing small chain run by a pro.
  3. Hello I am new. And please forgive and point me in the right direction if this subject has already been addressed. I tried searching for it. My problem is how to continue to play your own game when your partner is having a bad day with temper, etc. Or we get behind a ridiculously slow player(s) and my partner is impatient and complaining when we can't play through. Are there some methods to keep me on track and ignore what is going on around me? Mermaid
  4. Yes, Memphis 5 hrs, Nashville 2.5 Hrs, Knoxville 2 hrs and Tri-Cities 3 hrs away which is in the North Eastern Part of TN. Not in Chattanooga. Bummer. If there was an EWGA here I would definitely be right in the middle of it. I am very envious of you Claire.
  5. I am a computer graphic artist. Working for an in-house agency in a family run company. Have been in that business for various people for 30 years. I freelance also at home. I play golf with my husband. Wish I could find other women in my area that are not rolling in dough but love to play golf. Mermaid
  6. I love to watch Tiger because he is so unbelievable with his power swings and nerve to go for it. However, Jack is the one I learned my swing mechanics. Not too many people can model after Tiger. I have to stay loyal to Jack. His old videos have helped me a lot. Mermaid
  7. Hello I am new here. I have been playing for 2 years. It is worse in the Women's realm. Here in Chatt town, in order to get into a women's organization, you have to have a score of 85 or better and belong to a local country club. Who has money for that! Plus how long does it take to be able to play that well? I am just proud that I'm breaking a hundred! Sorry guys but you have your local guys leagues, etc. And the youth have "first Tee" for which I am very glad about. But beginning women take lessons and have to play by themselves or with their husbands. I have tried to encougage the local driving ranges to create something for us but have not had any takers. Women like to do things with other women too. So you have to be a snob and have loads of money to play with the "golf ladies" in Chattanooga. Mermaid
