  1. Hello All, I have been playing for about 7 months now and loving this sport. But I was just a hacker... Now I am working on a smooth swing and follow through... before I was just a hitter. This is my swing right now, as best as I can describe it. I swing on one plane. When taking the club back, I take it with a once piece take away, SMOOTH no jerking, with my shoulders and turning. I feel the club going up and my hands cocking automic and then feel the club stop at it's peak and wait for the weight of the club to start to fall (is this what they call lag) and once it starts to fall I just turn through and my hands swing automic to hit the ball and nice follow through. My question is? Am I doing this right... waiting for the club to get to its highest point while still turn and then wait for the club to return back down then turn through to impact the ball and follow through. (the follow through just happens because of the turn of the hips) Before I was forcing the club down before it got to its peak point and get really jerky, now it is a lot smoother with letting the club peak and return back down on its on, so it stays on the same plane.... Any comments on this idea...
  2. Someone PLEASE FIND IT I want to watch it and I am at work
  3. Go with the MP-60 like I did and you will not regret it... I was knocking on 100 and now I am knocking on 80... Since I got the MP-60 my confidence has gone way up... I really like my MP-60 these babies will stay with me for awhile...
  4. You wanted comment from a low handi-cap but here is my two cents... (even though I am a high handi-cap) I got a begginers set of Adams Idea A3, always shot in the 100's wanted new irons, just because... wanted Mizuno's... so I tried them out, for a high handicapper like me I could not hit the MP-67 nor the MP-32 then I picked up the MP-60 and have ever since shot in the mid to low 90's and will be in the 80's very soon, (this weekend if the wheather holds out) The MP-60 is nice at address and yet forgiving and can shape nice shots... Try them they are awesome, I got mine BRAND SPANKING new for $350 with S300 shafts. I now hit these better then the Adams Idea A3 and the Adams are made for beginners...
  5. I started Golf about 6-7 months ago... first time out shot like a 150 LOL Then this is my tail this year working really hard... New Years pop my cherry and shot a 97 2-14 shot a 96 2-21 shot a 92 (with two drops) 2-21 shot a 44 (replay the back nine) I just started keeping track of my handicapp from oobgolf, and it tells me I am at a 17.8 handicap with 94 scoring average... I plan on playing this weekend again and hoping to shoot in the 80's (I got a golf course in my backyard that I pay $20 w/ cart or $15 walking all day) so this year I am planing on shooting in the 80's by June and in the 70's by winter... If I can do that all in one year of golf... I will feel very accomplish... because I compete in Target Archery and in my first year won Shooter of the Year in my state... I plan to get very good at golf... it is too expensive of a hobby just to go out and hack, plus my group of buddies loves to bet... every weekend it ends up being a $200-$300 pot...
  6. Went out Saturday, not so great day to play but it was playable. Went out and started great with the driver, two long drives in a row... had a great feeling... Playing from the blue, 47 front with one drop on the 9th hole because I did not have enough club to carry the pond. Missed it by a foot... oh well... 45 back nine with one drop ball on the 10th because I could not find it in the leaves. My goal was to try to shoot in the 80's which I should of if I did not have those two drops and three crazy drives. Shot a 92 So after I was done went and played the back nine again. This time everything was going good... besides on the 11th par 3 when my par putt hit the back of the cup and came back out, finish with a 44 on 9 hole. So I believe I can be in the 80's soon, maybe in the next three rounds or so. I am very happy that I am getting close to my goal for this year... Shoot in the 80's by June and hopefully in the 70's by winter time... Can't wait for this Saturday and the wheather to warm up... Hitting frozen balls in PA winter wheather does not help, and it does not go far...
  7. is it a good idea on a cheap route to spray paint a Circa 62 #2 with flat black spray paint, spray everything else but the putter face...? or is there another way... to do this with out sending it away to get it restore. I want to game it, but don't want to live with out it either... there is just a little bit of rust on the bottom... thanks
  8. I hope he makes the cut and take a Top 10 finish.
  9. Yeah we played a round this past weekend... and it was my second time out this year, I broke 100 for the first time on New Years day a 97 and then this past saturday I shot a 96, should of shot in the 80's... but I 5 putted and 4 putted and duff one... (on a par 3 using an Iron... trying to muscle it) I have only been golfing about 6-7 months and practing everyday swinging in my garage. I can hit my irons, but not as solid as I would like... my only iron that I have trouble with most of the time is the 6i other then that 7i-SW is good... but short on distance. I can't wait till this weekend to go back out and play... I can't beleive I shot a 96 this past weekend and beat 4 guys in my group that have been playing for 3+ years and the the guy that beat me shot a 95... they are ususally shooting in the 80's but I guess with my good playing threw them off their game,... espically my driver... striaght... Thanks everyone, by the way this game is way addicting... and I thought Archery was... Archery does not compare to golf skills at all... and way more money in golf, with my golfing buddies then my archery partners...
  10. Tell me if this is stupid or smart... My iron play is alright, but not as good as my woods. So on par 3's I use either my 3 wood or 5 wood I just do half a smooth swing and follow through and it goes and rolls right up to the dance floor. That is everytime, my playing partner gets a heck of a laugh out of it, but they are hardly ever on the green, always either end up short or miss it left and right. While my woods I get it striaght down the middle and onto the dance floor. Anyone else thinks this is stupid... I am very short on my clubs... my PW only goes about 80-100 and my 6i if hit flush goes 150ish just wondering if I am the only one doing this, and looking stupid on the course, but if I am the stupid one, why is it that on every par 3 I am putting for birdie...
  11. Played my local course, for the first time this year. I broke 100 a 97 on New Years day on another course, first time ever. Since I picked up golf less then 6 months ago. Last Saturday I shot a 47 front and 49 back for a 96. I should of broke 80 EASY and I am so mad. My mistakes Front 9 Had a par 3 that I duff and had to retee and walk away with a triple bogie. Back 9 Had a par 4, great long drive and a smooth pitch shot for a birdie putt, (11 footer) missed it and went down hill had a 5 putt (what the heck right) walked away with a triple bogie. Had a another par 4, great long drive again but near some trees, hit my 7i and caught the tree and went 20 yards, now I am in the trees... use my 3 wood for a low punch shot, good idea got it on the green from 130 yards out... then GUESS WHAT I 5 PUTTED AGAIN... for a snowman on my score card. so in theroy I could of broken 80 easy if I did not have so many brain farts with my putter, I know it is the putter so I went and order my Scotty Cameron Circa #62 2 because I can putt the heck out of that thing, The putter will be here on Friday and I am going out on Saturday, don't care how cold it is I know I can break 80 by spring time... Again my goal this year, and I want to do it under a year is to shoot in the 70. I just need to work on my approach a little more and my putting. Does anyone think I can break 80 easily by spring time and shoot in the 70's by fall. for a newbie like that is just starting out...
  12. Not looking for a miracle... did not meation that... All I said was that it went straight and no slice... I never hitted a square headed driver... I can hit my Cleaveland just fine... but tends to draw and fade when I don't want it too... dang some people.... or should I say SOME PEOPLES KIDS....
  13. Okay long story short... yesterday was the first time out playing since Jan. 1 of this year. I have a Cleveland HiBore the first HiBore I believe, First hole I top the ball... thats what I get for not playing... So second hole I ask my brother to try out his Nike Sumo 5900 Square Head... (which I do not like the look of it, Square Head) anyways... I hit that thing so long and striaght I almost had to change my pants... for the rest of the round, I kept hitting that thing and no Slice what so ever, just kept going stright for me.... Now my question is, does a square head make you hit striaghter...??? what makes it hit so striaght...? can anyone shine some light on this for me... I want to go buy one now, but I want to hear some reviews on this square head driver thing... Thanks All
  14. I agree about not hitting driver on every shot... but I also believe in just getting out of the box so you can have a good second shot I have played with many that can not hit a driver out of the box but still they try for me, I start off first hole with a 3W if struck well I will hit my driver second hole, and that will determine if I will be using my driver often or not, on wide or narrow fairways, If you can not get of the box safely you are in for a rough ride for the hole or the entire course... I like the green to tee idea but if you can't get out of the box how can you get to the green... think about that... So I practice a lot with my driver and 3w, my driver is about 30 yards farther then my 3w and at times I rather hit my 3w to know that I can have a chance at birdie instead of hitting one bad... remember there is a lot of statagy to golf, but the first thing in golf is getting out of the box safely... accomphish that then concentrate on you putting... because if you can hit your driver and 3 wood the rest of the clubs will come with out thinking, besides the wedges... because that is all fee... good luck to all and hit em striaght
  15. I like the $50 dollar comment... Its funny because we do that in our group when someone is up for a birdie putt or eagle putt, we all would put money in the cup and if he sinks he can take it, LOL it was always a way to mess with their putt... but it is all in fun and always no harm intended. but stepping on someone else's line and not mean it, it is kewl, (if it is just a game for fun) but if there is money involved and in a tournament, I hope they have better manners... and like the comment above, if someone steps on my line and I worry about it, it is time for me to go out on those Monday qulifers in the PGA or Nationwide tour...

    P3 ProSwing

anyone use the P3 ProSwing??? I am looking to buy one since I just started in golf and want to get serious. I have been looking for home simulators that are good with a nice price tag. If anyone has use one please chim in and let me know your experience before I buy one... This thing from what I see and read about is really good for the money compare to the other ones that can cost upwards of a couple grand. Or do you think it is just a waste of money... I am thinking this P3 will help me with my form and club selection better. I would know exaclty what my 9i will be going and how far and what not... Yeah there is the driving range, but what good is it if you can not see how you impact the golf ball. Again if you have tired this please chim in... Thank All in advance from an aspiring golfer...
  17. Yeah I saw that and have it on PVR... I will watch again... but it does seem really rushed. I did pick up the putting thing about the two balls. That was the best lesson for me. I recored all the Golf Instructions like the Tee It Up With Tiger and Tiger and AK it really helps to go back and watch through some of them... but yes the show was rush, but what can you cover in 30mins with commerical... anyways hopefully the show continues because I enjoy it and reenforce your knowledge
  18. Do you think it is possible to get a 4 Hybrid to replace the 3i, 4i and 5i here is what is in my bag now... Driver Cleveland 9.5* 3 Wood Taylormade Burner then was thinking put in a 4 Hybird Taylormade Rescue and take out my 3i, 4i and 5i 6i-P Mizuno MP60 52*, 56*, 60* Putter Does this makes sense??? if it is 200 yards I hit my 3 wood soft... if it is 170 ish hit the 4 Hybird soft and 185ish I hit it flush... or is that just dumb My 3 wood goes about 220 carry
  19. I will keep my A3 but i got such a great deal on a brand new set of MP-32 and pulled the trigger... Will practice with the blade for a little bit... and see how it goes... When I was testing out the MP-67 at GG I was hitting a 7 iron 150 yards and nice little draw... So I hope when I hit on grass it will be the same as on the turf at the video at GG. Just a FYI... Why I got those MP-32... I practice my swing about 2 hours a night in my garage and plan to be a good ball striker when Spring comes around...
  20. Let me start out by saying I just started golf about 3-4 months ago... When I first started I shot in the 150 then now I am under 100. The Adams are good... but I went to Golf Galaxy and was hitting some Titeilst 690Cb and they felt great and the Mizuno MP32... I know they are some what blades... But I figure why not hit the better clubs and get better instead of hitting my Cavity Back Irons... I also love the slim profile at address of teh Mizuno compare to the Adams... can someone shine some light on this... thanks
  21. I was looking at this putter... I want to get it... but just don't want to drop the cash for it yet. I was reading more reviews on it. Right now I am using a Ping G5i, Odessy 2Ball center shaft and a Sabertooth. I really want to get the 2.6 and be done with all this putter stuff... I figure if I get the best... I can just forget the rest and concentrate on one putter and one stroke... Gimme your your review on that putter
  22. My goal was to break 100 and I did that New Years Day... shot a 97 now my goal is to shot mid 80 by summer and high 70 by the end of the year.... I know I can do it...
  23. I have been playing golf for 3 months now... And when I first started I shot super high... almost a 150ish the last time I went out was New Years Day... I finally broke 100 and shot a 97... I LOVE THIS GAME... I kick myself in the head all the time now that why I did not pick this up earlier in my life... Praying to shoot in the mid 80's by summer...
  24. My normal SS is 85-92 and I can carry it about 230-250 depends if I hit it square or not... if I really swing for the fences I can get 103 but it is just a spray and prey... LOL
  25. Can anyone comment on the Top Flite XL Distance Yellow ball. I was playing with Nike PD Soft, and now I moved over to Top Flite XL Distance because for $10 for 15 balls I could not pass it up. I just started in golf about two months ago and do not want to play the more expensives balls because I tend to lose some. One time I lost over 9 balls on one outing... only one time I went out and only lost 1 ball. so as you can see it can add up fast $$$$ any good or bad about the Top Flite XL Distance ball Thanks All... by the way THIS SITE ROCKS........
