2. The contest is a 100 word entry on ideas to improve their website as voted on by other members, so not really based on my golf skill but also doesn't fall under random drawing if you mean a literal random drawing.. I'll just say that since the website was starred in my original post, this is a very popular website for insider golf information and spy pics of new clubs, so they are established enough to provide this giveaway.
3. I know that seems like a very stupid question but I can't seem to find the answer or understand the answers that are given. The contest is The ********* 10k prize giveaway. The prizes are as follows (excuse the ginormous font): Grand Prize (1) TaylorMade Driver with Custom Shaft, (2) TaylorMade Fairway Woods (2) Adams Hybrids, (1) Set of Mizuno Irons (3) SCOR Wedges, (1) Bettinardi Tour Custom Putter (12) Dozen Bridgestone Golf Balls, (1) Bushnell NEO+ GPS Watch (1) ********* Custom Bag from Custom Golf Bags Online , (2) Complete Golf Outfits from Sub70USA (1) Pair of TRUE Linkswear Stealth Golf Shoes Approximate Retail Value : $5,200 2nd Place Prize (1) TaylorMade Driver with Custom Shaft, (1) TaylorMade Fairway Wood (1) Adams Hybrid, (1) Set of Mizuno Irons (2) SCOR Wedges, (1) Bettinardi Studio Stock Putter (6) Dozen Bridgestone Golf Balls, (1) Bushnell NEO+ GPS Watch (1) Golf Outfit from Sub70USA , (1) Pair of TRUE Linkswear Tour Golf Shoes Approximate Retail Value : $3,500 3nd Place Prize (1) TaylorMade Driver, (1) TaylorMade Fairway Wood (1) Adams Hybrids, (2) SCOR Wedges, (3) Dozen Bridgestone Golf Balls, (1) Golf Outfit from Sub70USA , (1) Pair of TRUE Linkswear phx Golf Shoes Approximate Retail Value : $1,675 The way that some of the contest is worded concerns me, such as "*********.com will be selecting 3 winners to become members of the "********* Tour Staff ". Prizes include a complete club sponsorship & a complete apparel package." If anyone could please explain if it would effect any of my collegiate golf that would be great. Thanks for the help.
4. I do apologize if this was already brought up but I was wondering what those tags players clipped on player's hats and sometimes shirts were. For those that don't know what i'm referring to, it's a small (maybe 1"x1"), blue square that bears the Masters logo. I see many of the players wearing them, including Kevin Na clipped to the side of his hat and Miguel Angel Jimenez on the buttons of his shirt. Is it a way of identifying the less notable players in the tournament for security purposes? I would have to assume that these would be somewhat collectable as well, but i haven't seen this system used in previous Masters.
5. Sorry about the thread then. Mods please delete thanks. As for the swing my friend only recorded the practice swing and stopped before my actual swing.
6. I have new video of my swing up and I would very much appreciate any comments on it, on the video or in the forum. Thanks guys.
7. No problem man. All of my iron switching is still in the hypothetical stage, but USGA AM events will require conforming grooves in 2014 and i am in the high school class of 2012, so i assumed i might as well get used to them now rather than later.
8. Hey guys i have Callaway X-Forged '09s. I was thinking about possibly getting conforming irons since i will be playing college golf soon. Since the rule only applies to 25 degrees and higher clubs, i want to keep my 3 and 4 irons since they've worked well for me. I am looking for suggestions for irons that are conforming to new groove rules and are offset similar to my current irons. I am thinking more a muscle back type of iron since these are higher lofts, but i am also considering the forged razr iron so anything between those two are what im looking for. Thanks.
9. I'm surprised no one has asked this yet (and if they have sorry) but how did you do this? Did you sand off the old paint then repaint with auto spraypaint? any ideas on other methods? and since it's matte could i just use high quality spraypaint (threadjacking at this point)? I was thinking about doing this to my FT-Tour but im unsure of how to line it up.
10. I have an FT Tour right now, so im pretty sure i won't be able to sand down the carbon fiber. But, i was wondering if any of you have successfully painted the crown of your club matte white and if it has helped you or been a disaster in anyway?
11. Driver - 400 3 + 5 wood - 100 Irons - 900 Wedges - 200 Putter - 30 hurray for sales Total of $1630, but will probably be the set for my high school and college career.
12. Thanks for all the help, I played the Stallion Open today. There was about a 30 mph pushing the ball left so i aimed way right and took an 8 iron, the rest of my group took a 9. Distance was spot on, but the wind was really pushing. Anyways turns out the 8 iron was the correct choice for me. Pared the hole. Thanks for the help. Yes i am a 10 handicap that shoots 150 with my 5 iron but 240 with my driver. go figure.
13. I am about to play a tournament for my school. As i studied the course layout, one par 3 has a 70 foot drop to the green. My question is how many yards less would that be equivalent to when i make my clubs selection. Stats are below. Par 3 148 yards "The 4th is a scenic downhill par-3 that drops nearly 70 feet from the elevated tees to a green tucked along a creek." Had it been a level green, i would have hit a 5 iron.
14. Maybe you could use a bicycle lubricant since it doesn't damage rubber along with the air compressor.
