I seem to feel more comfortable hitting a 1 iron on an unleveled lie rather than a hybrid. The trick I learned to hitting the 1 iron is having a fast swing speed.

What polishing compounds do you guys use when you buff your clubs? -
I used to get mad blisters from not using one so I have to, but I agree it's something to get use to. The weird thing now is that I've gotten so use to it sometimes I forget I even have the glove on.

As long as you don't have to change your swing from set to set I think you'll be fine. Sadly I noticed brush marks from the mats shortly after I got my new club a couple of months ago and I was pissed.
