  1. Pelz is a genius. He has a real talent for explaining his well documented, quantitative approach to the short game.
  2. Hard to beat the Monterey Peninsula; I'll remember my first trip to Pebble for the rest of my life. I didn't see Kohler listed; it's awesome as well (treat yourself and stay at the American Club). Anyone who hasn't been to Myrtle should plan a trip there. It's a little more pedestrian in terms of being exclusive, but there's lots of really good golf there and they have over 100 courses to choose from. It's a very good value also. Check out the golf packages
  3. I've played Vineyards and Glassy. Glassy will rip your throat out. It's just a very tough course. Lots of very difficult elevation changes. Vineyards is a great track as well, just not as tough for me as the mountain course. I also echo what was said about how classy the Cliffs courses are. It's a first class operation.
  4. Be sure and play the Grove Park Inn course. It's a gem. But don't wait for it to cost $10 per side !
  5. That waterfall is just plain stupid.
  6. I've done both trips. If you can only do one trip, I recommend Pebble and the other Monterey Peninsula courses, particularly Spyglass. This is due to the iconic nature of Pebble. It is not a slight to Kohler, though. My first stay at the American Club and playing Whistling Straits, Black Wolf Run's River Course and the Irish course will be one of my treasured golf memories.
  7. I'm going out there for a long weekend with 3 of my law firm colleagues. I can't wait.
  8. The sport requiring the most skill (other than golf) at a professional level is definitely tennis. YOU try returning a 130 mph serve!
  9. I hit it like a short to mid iron. I have to remind myself not to try to kill it.
  10. I've always played with a hat -- never a visor -- and it would feel strange, like not wearing my watch, to play without one.
